hi,

unfortunately, bio-alcamid is not FDA approved in the US at this time, so i don't know that much about it. i do know that it is supposed to be permanent and i have heard that it is a good filler. the most important thing is to choose someone who is experienced in performing the non surgical nose job procedure, especially since you want to use a permanent filler. here, i use artefill and it gives good results. you also have the option of using a temporary filler first and then converting to a permanent one later.
hope that helps,

bio alcamid

I just read recently that this product has been known to cause tumors in mice...unfortunately I have already had it injected under my eyes (I year ago)...but plan to have it removed as it is also causing major swelling…

i don't know about the tumors, but if you're going to have it removed, be very careful!
speak to several people about it before you get it done. removing something like that, especially under the eyes is going to be a very tricky procedure.
one thing to consider is steroids. they will calm down the swelling to where it may be ok cosmetically.

Dear Dr. Rivkin,
I have Bio Alcamid in my face (injected in 2005) and I desperately want it removed. I will fly anywhere. Do you have any suggestions? What type of steriod would deflate the cheeks?

hi,
i'm not sure who is good at taking bio-alcamid out. i think that i got a name from the contura company at one time - look through my posts here, there should be something there about that.
kenalog 10 or 40 would be good to bring down the cheeks somewhat.
i would start with 10 for a couple of sessions (wait a month between sessions) and then got to 40 if the effect is not enough.
hope that helps
