I just had blepharoplasty three days ago. I went to a doctor who specializes in ocuplasty. He is with my ophthalmologist who is great. Several friends went to him and said he did a great job.
They hooked me up to an IV and I think I went out for a period, but I woke up with the most incredible pain. I thought they had cut my eye. They told me that the had to cauterize something and then said the give me some more Versed? It did nothing, they said to give me more, but it did nothing. I literally felt like I was being tortured. It was as bad as childbirth. I had to lay there while they finished, with me just crying in pain.
Afterwords, my eye still felt as if it had been cut open - the actual eye - not the eyelid. The doctor had not given me any pain pills as I suppose this is not supposed to be painful. Thank goodness I had some pain pills at home. I took three hydrocodone, not caring what it did to me as I was in such agony I couldn't get a good breath.
It's been three days, and I am no in severe pain anymore, just feel very uncomfortable. One eye feels very scratchy.
Has anyone experienced this? I have had twilight sleep before, even this year with no problem.
