Hey doc, can a blepharoplasty improve puffy upper eyelids

Hey doc, can a blepharoplasty improve puffy upper eyelids

I need to see a plastic surgeon to tell me if my upper eyelids could be improved with eyelid surgery. I've had one plastic surgeon tell me no, based on seeing my photos, and another one tell me yes after seeing me many times for botox and fillers in my face, which was unrelated to the eyelid problem.

In one year's time my eyes went from being completely normal to completely enveloped in puffiness. I think it could be a side effect of a medication that I have to take, but I am miserable. I wear reading glasses to disguise the problem, and over time it has just taken away my self esteem. I don't look people in the eyes anymore. My eyes were my most youthful feature. One of my concerns is that the dr. will think that it is fat in my eyelid, but I can assure you it is not. It is some kind of edema. I definitely don't want a hollow look to my eyes, as I have read about from so many on this message board. Hollow eyes are worse than swollen eyes.

Also, I would not want the muscle in the upper lid done, just the excess skin removed. The fact that my eyelids are swollen just means that there is a lot of skin that is retaining fluid. The underlying problem would still exist, but it could give me relief for awhile at least. Does anybody know of a good board certified plastic surgeon in the greater Los Angeles area that is really good at this procedure? Preferably in the South Bay area, but I would go elsewhere.

Hey there,

Not sure if you've already found someone or not. I've heard great things about Dr. Nassif in LA. He did my friend's upper eyelid surgery but I know that he does under eyelids/double eyelids as well. I would consult with him if it was me.
