I had a U&L Bleph, and am 2wks post op. My eyes are still swollen in the outside corners, the bruising isn't bad though. But my eye shape has changed, and I don't know if this is suppose to be permenant? It almost seems like he pulled my eyes too tight and stitched them together at the outer corners, now they look Almond shaped! I use to have large round eyes, and only did this to remove some excess skin and bags under my eyes. I have had the sutures removed a week ago. But my eyes have not gone back to their natural shape. Has anyone else experienced this? How long should it be before the final look? Will my eyes start to "open" up again?? I am very worried they will stay like this!! Any search I've done on the internet, I can't find any "healing" type pictures. Everyone seems to post before and after,,,but not during the healing. So I don't know what it is actually suppose to look like! Help any advice??
Hi Tia, Today I am 2 weeks post op upper and lower bleph surgery and when I saw your post it it sounded like my situation. I have had a lot of swelling, which has been coming down very slowly. I have been using saline drops and antibiotic drops which seemed to help. As per dr. Instuctuions, I stopped the drops, then yesterday my eyes swelled up badly. I am back on the saline drops. I am very discouraged...thought I would look really good after two weeks. You are ahead of me in healing time, and was hoping you would have an encouraging update. As far as the shape of your eyes, my friend had almond shaped eyes for a month before they went back to their normal shape. I am trying not to panic! I am running out of excuses to people for hiding out in my house! Any encouraging words?
Hi Lukydk I'm exactly 30 days post. I've seen a big improvement in the last few weeks! They are still red, with a little swelling and numbness in the outer corners, especially in the morning. The shape is 'slowly' coming back,,,but not to what it was originally. Everything I've read said it takes 3mths to see any real improvement. I see my PS tomorrow, so hopefully I will have some more infromation on my progress so far!
Did your eye shape change? you will definetly see a difference in a few weeks.
What helped me to not panick too much, is I took pictures everyday....even though I can't see any difference each day....when I look back at the pictures and compare day to day...there is a big improvement!
Here is another link to RealSelf, another forum where the girls really discuss a lot of different problems and questions.
Tia, Thank you so much for your reply! I have been doing the same thing taking pictures every day and you're right, it does help to look back and see the progress. I did start to panic yesterday, though, when it all of a sudden started going in the other direction and the swelling got way worse instead of improving. I see my ps today. I'll see if he thinks I should see an Opthamologist. It is scary.
My eyes have definitely changed in shape..not as round, but hoping I just need more time with that, too.
Thanks again for posting. It helps so much to hear there is progress in your healing!
I am a male and three weeks post-op. swelling gone and eye shape somewhat different. Also had a minor brow lift that may have been too conservative. I am having a dark blue and black color under my eyes which now makes me look tired or a little beat up. I was back to work in two weeks after the upper lid and brow lift surgery. Any thoughts on how to get rid of the dark stuff under the eyes?
I had mine done last year. It changes heaps in the first few months... Taking for granted your Doc was great... they will look like your own eyes within 3 months ( I could go out looking 'normal' in 4 weeks) ... I loved mine at around 6 months... and at 1 year mark... perfection.
