Had radiesse injected in NL folds two days ago. I originally planned for juve but injector said he recommended radiesse since it last longer (he said it would last a year) and that it works well in this area.
He used 1 syringe, felt I prob needed two but did one and if I wanted more would do another syringe in about a month.
Overall I like the results but I guess I have to wait a few weeks to know for sure after swelling has gone and the gel-carrier has dissapated (I guess- from what I read on other posts). i originally thought he overfilled- had a chipmonk look at first, lol (intial swelling)and had some lunpiness that could be felt under the skin but now it looks smooth and almost all lumps are gone
Im a little freaked....I do have a bruise on one side that is dark purple, looks kinda like ink. It cannot be covered with makeup and is very obvious
Any reccomendatons on how to make this go away quicker?? Has anyone esle had this problem??
In the meantime, Im trying to stay cool and tell myself that in a week or so I will look much better when this bruise goes away (please please tell me it will go away, lol)
I have the same thing MD from a Juvey Ultra injection yesterday to my lower cheek (focal fat loss) that was injected and bruised small at first, but today is about the size of a dime and VERY DARK BLUE. The damn thing better go away .
I'm using rosehip oil and emu oil on it hoping that will help.
I had the same thin* 2x with resty. No makeup would cover the bruises. They looked like tattoos & I did not think they would dissipate. It took exactly 6 days the first time and 7 days the 2nd time. I look normal now!!
Upcoming BL, with micro lipo of abdomen, love handles, & chin
lipo of inner/outer thighs, hips 1999
restalyne n/l folds, mouth corners, marionette March 2008
I had Radiesse bruising the first time - it lasted 10 days and yes it was very hard to cover with concealer- I had it bad on the n/l folds
it gets worse and worse for the first 5 days and then fades out the next five days. The results lasted about 10 months
The second time the MD put the novacaine right into the injector instead of before hand and I had no bruising,
I only had 1 vial each time
I just had the Perlane done last week and I will see how long it lasts.
I had it done in the marionette lines as the Radiesse was still holding in the n/l folds .
It will fade!
Glad to know that I am not permanetly disfigured lol. It looks like it has faded a tad but at this rate it seems like it will take a month. I asked my derm about the bruising and he said any bruising should be able to cover with make up....yeah right.
Anyway, glad to know this is somewhat normal side effect. I feel like I am wearing a big neon sign on my face saying " look at me I had a filler injected right here (arrow)"
Anything that make the bruising go away quicker?
DCNGA...how are you fairing? Its been 4 days for me.
Same for me, Mink. It's fading as it is turning yellow around the edges and that's pretty much an indicator that it will go away. But, like you it is still noticeable, so I see it being there at least the rest of this week . My cover story for work is I hit the side of my face on the corner of a cabinet door that was open when I bent over. It's the only thing I could think of that would cause such a bad bruise that far down on my cheek .
I had the same kind of bruising after my Juvederm injections last fall. Someone recommended Vitamin K cream to me so I bought some @ GNC, and it sounds crazy, but it seemed like my bruises faded overnight! OK maybe an over-statement LOL, but I really could not believe how much faster I healed. Now anytime I get a bruise anywhere, I use this stuff. Also, to cover the bruises I found a concealer made by Amazing Cosmetics that is very opaque and creamier than Dermablend, plus it comes in a tiny tube (nice in case you need touch-up).
I had Sculptra 2 days ago around my chin, cheekbones and tear trough. I still have some swelling on my cheeks below the tear troughs and they have turned yellow.
More troublesome are the sores from the injections (there are a lot of injections with sculptra and they are deeper than botox or resty) and the bruises. I have large purple/dk blue bruises on both sides of my chin & on one cheekbone and red sores from the injections on my chin & cheekbones. I have to massage the injection areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days which is supposed to get rid of any bumps but does nothing to help the sores & bruises heal.
I can't leave the house because I look like someone beat me up and no makeup on the planet would cover it. On the plus side, I can tell that the areas that were injected are going to look great when this is over.
I had sculptra and botox 3 weeks ago. Two days after the treatment I got this deep purple bruise under my eye. It is smaller but by no means is it gone. I think it will be months before it goes away. I am using arnica both pill and gel and I also put moist warm compresses on whenever I get a chance. Anyone have anything for this long?
A bruise can last 3-4 weeks. A bruise is caused by bleeding under the skin and the body has to reabsorb that blood in order for the bruise to go away. It usually changes from purple to blue to green to yellow and then it is gone.
I use Donell Skin K-derm cream and I think it helps. I think I bought it at Make Me Heal. also, I found the best concealer for purple bruises is Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer. It looks orange and it neutralizes purple. I use Lycogel Concealing makeup, which you can buy online at either eBay or LovelySkin.com, all over my face and then cover any remaining visible bruises with the Eve Pearl concealer. Then powder over it so it sets and stays. It does a very effective job of concealing bruises or redness.
Also, when you have bruises, if the bruises are in the NL area, put on extra eye makeup because that will distract people from the area where the bruises are -- if the bruises are near the eyes, put on a bright colorful lipstick because people will notice your mouth instead of the area where makeup is covering the bruises. When in doubt, put on more dramatic eye makeup and a colorful lipstick. Also, don't wear anything the color of the bruises near your face.
I've had sculptra and juvy several times. (Just had juvy in lips + NL yesterday, and it looks too puffy but will be ok in a few days.) The best thing I've ever used to take down swelling and bruising is fresh pineapple. It's full of bromelain-especially the core of the pineapple. You will all have good results soon, but those darned purple bruises are nasty. (I've actually rubbed the pineapple on the bruise as well as eating it!) You can mix a few creamy concealers (green + orange+ cream-colored) and tap them on the bruised areas and then powder lightly. Make sure to take arnica montana tablets under the tongue, too. This too shall pass, and you will all be fabulous . I'm going to get more sculptra in the upper cheek soon. Mine has lasted for 25 months! Was going to try radiesse this time for higher cheekbones, but I've heard so much about the bruising that I'm chicken. Best wishes friends.
Both sides of my face (cheek area) are completely bruised from the Radiesse I got today. I'm using cold compress and Arnica gell and tablets, but I'm so worried about going to work tomorrow and the rest of the week.
I just needed to vent to people who understand! this sucks right now ...
I got Juv 6 weeks ago under my eyes. I immediately had the most ugly raised purple bruise. It is NOT gone. It still looks like I have a black eye. I have an appointment with my Dr on Friday. I am so upset about this. Does anyone know if the Dr will or can fix this?
