Arm- + Breast Lift in Nov .. Preparing + Supply List Help??

Postby Julia_Chloe » Wed Oct 12, 2011 6:32 am

How do I prepare the best for my upcoming arm- + breast-lift (+implants)? What things do I need to buy and what should I prepare myself for? What are things that helped you?

:)

Hey Julia,

The only things I bought were the Marena 3/4 length sleeve garment, which they do sell here and silicone strips for arm scar healing. I don't use anything on my breasts.

I propped my arms on pillows when I could to help with swelling.

I hope this helps!

It does, thank you! :)

Did you change your diet somehow? Eat/drink diff. things etc.?
Was it easy for you to move your arms afterwards enough to do things like brush your teeth, comb your hair, eat etc.??

My appetite was not the same for a good 2/3 weeks, but that was more due to the TT than the armlift. I def. watch my salt, though I always have b/c I am super sensitive to sodium. So, if you are a big salt lover now - start cutting back. :)

I could move my arms fairly easily to about shoulder level, above that took 2-3 weeks. I could wash my hair but it was a challenge and I could comb it, but again it was tiring to do and I was careful whenever the arms went too high. If someone can help you with that kind of stuff the first two weeks, it would be great. The less you move your arms up high in the early stages, the better the chances you have of not opening up your incision. :)

I already try to keep my sodium intake low, so that's a plus. :)
I also am trying now already to keep my arms low when doing some stuffs like washing my hair.. just to test out what would work and I think, if the pain is not too much, then I will be fine. Just realized some days ago that I should put some cups and plates down, cause they're all up on shelves atm. Oh and my surgeon said no lifting the elbows over the shoulders for 4 weeks.

Yes keeping the elbows low is key! I love your idea to do some kitchen rearranging, very smart!

I even made a surgical center in my closet of things to wear just for recovery. That way everything was easy to get to and all in one spot. I also didn't depress myself by seeing the other stuff in my closet couldn't wear yet.

That's a brilliant idea of yours!! =D>

I had my idea to rearrange some things when I made a cup of coffee. I reached up for my cup and suddenly thought: "OH MY GOD, HOW WILL I MAKE MY COFFEE AFTER SURGERY???" Then I ran through the apartment and saw so many things being much too high.. clothes (as you mentioned already), movies and books, cups and plates and other supplies. Damn, I'm glad I saw this now and not 3 weeks later.. just imagine standing in your kitchen, so wanting just a small cup of black gold but not able to make it.. you can see it, almost smell it, but nope.. no coffee for you, lady. Hahaha.
