Complications - please help me!

Complications - please help me!

Postby pkc789 » Wed Jul 04, 2012 2:24 pm

Hi, I am day 15 from an extended arm lift with incisions from elbow, across arm pit and half way to my waist. I also had upper arm lipo suction and alot of it. A few days ago my incisions under my bicep area about 4-6 inches long started weeping on my left arm. I had been using this arm more for just basic activities because my right arm was always more sore and tender with limited mobility. There were complications with the right arm during surgery. Until day 11-12 I was putting paper tape over all incision and changing them after my morning shower. On day 12 I noticed the yellow, gooey stuff in the indicated problem area. I called and was told to tape saline soaked gauze in that area. I did that for a day or two and it removed some scabs so now I have wet, yellow puss with fresh meat showing where the scabs came off with the gauze. I am freaked out. My dr says continue wet dressing. This hurts, burns, throbs, etc. I am on antibiotics but I have already went back to work and I have no choice but to continue to go Mon - Fri. Suggestions, experiences?

I am sorry you are going through all of this. I think you need to see your surgeon asap. If he won't get you in try your regular doc or even an urgent care or ER.

This sounds like it has to be seen by a doctor.

I totally agree with Sassy. I think you should get checked out. If your PS won't see you or can't see you (too far?) go to your family doctor. It's good you are on antibiotics but the puss would concern me. So sorry to hear you are going through this. Please keep us posted.
