Pain from brachioplasty 8 weeks ago

arm lift brachioplasty

Postby auntym » Sat May 17, 2008 8:59 pm

Hi from Oklahoma. I had an arm lift, brachioplasty, 8 weeks ago. The pain never, ever ends. I used the best possible surgeons...does anyone else have the continuous pain? It's not excruciating like it was, but it's enough to keep me in bed a lot, and the use of my arms makes it worse...it's very depressing. Give me my old, fat, saggy arms back! (I have had a LOT of surgery: feet, knee, hysterectomy, hiatal hernia, 3 tummy tucks because of a mess the first time, breast reduction, implants, scar problems with the implants, finally removal of implants, RE-reduction, etc. Would the previous surgeries, and all my body has been through over the years, be the reason for the pain?) THANKS! AuntyM

I'm 3 weeks post op and very suprised with the ongoing pain. I hope to hear some others post because I really can't imagine 5 more weeks of this. I'm getting depressed because I am afraid to do anything to widen the scars. I'm seeing my PM tomorrow to get the stiches out.

i do have to say my arms are 75% more sensitive than anything else i had done. they still hurt and the scar tissue is hard and i have massage them out but it ends up bruising them and blah blah blah.

def not what i was expecting, even though my ps did tell me arm lifts tend to be the most uncomfortable

Thats funny that your ps said al are the most uncomfortable, my ps said the opposite! But he does a lot of tummy and breasts and not so many arms. The pain is bearable though.

I had lipo and a Tummy tuck with MR when I did my AL and Im here to say, I also find/found my arms were by far much more painful and slow healing than my TT. I would do another TT any day of the week, my AL, nope, no how, no way.... Even though I am going to have a few revisions when the time is right with the AL. But they still hurt from time to time and today they are bothering me a bit to the point where I just cannot get comfortable at all.

I had my Arm lift 3 months ago today, the pain has been terrible, almost unbearable... After 2 months I developed a lump in my incision the size of a walnut, My PS said I should just massage it and it would go away. A week later I woke up to the most excruciating pain in my arm and the lump was a big as a golf ball and throbbing with pain. Called my PS and he said for me to come in immediatly. I did and it was at that time he decided it was a Lymphocele and had to be removed. So he tried numb the area before his incision but it wouldn't numb.. So he cut me open and dug out all of the lymphocele right there in the office.. Very painful.. since that procedure, that arm is worthless to me.. It feels stiff, hard, heavy, burns, and throbs all day.. Now I've been prescribed Lyrica and the side effects are aweful. Not to mention it takes about three weeks to even know if its going to work..I'm so disappointed and depressed..
