I'm panicing!!!! Help!

I'm panicing!!!! Help!

Postby Julia_Chloe » Tue Oct 25, 2011 3:30 pm

Oh nooo, I'm panicing! I just remembered something today!

So, I am scheduled for arm lift + breast lift (with implants) for Nov 22. My surgeon said I don't have sooo much skin to remove on my arms, but well, enough to get surgery. ;) Incision will be from my armpit to about 1-2 inches above my elbow. My breasts will get the lollipop/anchor cut, implants go under the muscle.

The thing that I forgot is: I have a flight to Moscow booked for Dec 10! I'm supposed to spend a month there with my bf and his family (christmas/new years)!!!!!! Ah!!!!!!!! Is this possible at all??? Can I fly so soon after this surgery? Will be 2 weeks after only. Is it alright to be out of the country for a whole month? I am so scared now that something could go wrong there and I will have no possibility to see my surgeon. But I also want to be there with my bf and his family.

Heeeeelp! Please tell me your thoughts on this!!!! :(

I think you will be ok. You definitely will be swollen and tender. Just be careful and don't go lifting on heavy suitcases etc. Bring long sleeves - you don't want people flipping out over your arm scars. At 2 weeks out they are still going to look "scary", so the last thing you will need is negative comments from others.

If all is well by 2 weeks, it's unlikely you will have any complications.

God, you just made me feel so much better!!
I read about incisions opening up at 3 or 4 weeks and women having to go back in then for getting stitched again, drained, revisions and so on.. it just totally made me freak out! I'm still planning so much as if there would not be those surgeries in the next months. I want all to be as normal as possible.

Can you give me any tips on how to make the recovery faster and what there is the best to do to help my arms and breasts to heal after surgery?

I had a armlift in March and was in pain till about week 3 or 4 but everyone is different. I just had it revised because my PS did a bad job the first time so he cut the old scar out and made longer and a little more lipo. I will be 3 weeks PO tomorrow and just starting to feel better today. I had a scar in the arm pit which is what hurts the most. I had my stiches both times removed at 2 weeks PO. This time he left a few in for a while longer so they don't split.

I had one little area that split this time and is a tad bit infected so on another dose of antibiotics.

I hope you do better than me and are able to go.

Good luck.

I don't know how to make it really go faster, but I can say propping my arms on pillows helped with comfort and swelling.

Everyone heals at a different rate and has a different pain threshold - you will probably have some level of discomfort on your trip - it all depends how well you manage it.

Damn, it would be good to be able to look into the future! :D

I just sent my ps an email and asked about this. He's such a sweetheart (I think he was supposed to become a woman), I hope he gets back to me soon!
