Hello. I'm planning a tummy tuck in February of 2012, and I'm considering having a BA/BL as well. I think I remember reading somewhere that women who have had breast augmentation have to get MRI for breast cancer screening yearly, rather than just the usual mammogram. I'm only 36, so I don't have to have any screening yet, but if I'm going to have to have an MRI every year in the future, it might affect my decision to have a BA. Does anyone know what the general guidelines are on this? Thanks!
I am on my 3rd ba and haven't had an MRI yet. I do not feel that they are all that important and you can get the away with a CT scan instead of a mamo. That is what i do now since the first mamo after my augmentation made me pass out. Lousy person doing it and it hurt like she was flatening a car.
Talk to your doctor and see if they will let you do a ct scan or a mri every few years instead.
