Breast Implant Exchange - LOCAL ANESTHESIA ONLY! I DID IT!!!

Breast Implant Exchange - LOCAL ANESTHESIA ONLY! I DID IT!!!

Postby manderson5506 » Thu Nov 05, 2015 4:15 pm

Wow! I did it! And it was a breeze. I had a breast implant exchange (due to a leaking implant) under local anesthesia only. I never even took the Xanax that was prescribed (however, I do not recommend this if you are even a little bit anxious). And I would only let an experienced PS work on me. I have been going to my PS for over 10 years and trust her fully.

This was the best option for me as I had a pulmonary embolism that resulted from my tummy tuck & MR in Jan 2012. I just wasn't ready to go under general anesthesia again this soon.

It was the most amazing thing ever. I will admit, I was SCARED TO DEATH! But my PS and the surgical techs and nurses were amazing. I was able to look at my size and adjust to my wants and needs. It was definitely no walk in the park, but I would do it again in a heartbeat.

If anyone has any questions, I would be glad to answer them.

How did they prep you? Did it hurt? Did you know what was going on? How did it feel afterwards?

I did a swap out and under a local twice and it was the best thing ever. I get extremely sick from anesthesia to the point of throwing up for 5-7 days.

Your injected with Novocaine and that is the worst part, the pain not unbearable. My PS gave to two painkillers and one valium 1 hour before surgery.

Basically all you feel is pulling and tugging. I could feel when he was carving out my pockets for the bigger implants like carving a pumpkin. No pain though.

The weirdest feeling was when he took the implants out and washed out the pockets. It felt kind of flappy and sloppy.
