Explant and Lift

Explant and Lift

Postby taterbug34 » Mon Oct 26, 2009 4:29 pm

I need to have an explant and lift ASAP and the doc who did my implant was wonderful but he recently retired. He was referred to me by a friend at the time. I need tips from anyone else who may have had a lift or explant. I need to find a great doc in Oregon/Washington?maybe California? Anyone know what the approx cost of explant/lift? Thanks!

Greetings taterbug,

I have a quick question that may help me answer some of your questions. My question would be what the reason was for the explantation alone with a lift. I have performed explants with a lift, but as you may or may not know, the loss of the volume of an implant without replacement of an implant (even a smaller one) will result in a dramatic change smaller in size. As long as you are aware of this, then I would support your decision.
Let me know if I can answer any specific questions for you, take care.

Thanks for answering. I want to have them removed because I feel there may be a possibility that they arehaving a negative effect on my health. This may not be so but I don't want to spend the time and money to find out. I don't mind if I am a much smaller size. This will not bother me as my lifestyle is much different these days. I just don't want to be left with a saggy mess of skin.

Hi, you mentioned in your post that you think you're implants maybe negatively effecting your health. May I ask what your symptoms are? I'm thinking of having a BA but am sensitive to a lot of things food, hair dye, etc. Anyway , I'm concerned that my body may react negatively to the silicon implant and since I don't want to go with the alternative saline implant I'm not sure whether the risk is worth it...although I REALLY want boobs :-)
thanks for reading

Hi, Are you sure you need a lift? I had implants in 1998 and had them removed in 2005. It was quite scary the first few days, they looked so deflated but after a week or so they plumped back up. I had them removed because I had gained a lot of weight and they were huge. However I had new ones implanted in 2008. I had them removed under local and it cost $1800.
