Implants fallen too low please look at my pics!

Postby meisje » Wed May 25, 2011 8:15 pm

Hi,

I am worried that my implants have fallen too low. Please look at my pics and compare the 6 months to say the 1yr and 18 mo post op. I think thay are too low. PS says they are not but I think that he just doesn't want to be on the hook for anything. He didn't put them under the muscle but rather sub-facial placement ( his idea ) and if I want to go under the muscle now he wants me to pay for it. I feel like he should pay for it since the sub-facial placement was his idea.

My password = cantwait

thx for looking and let me know what you think.

I definitely see what you're referring to. Even your left nipple has dropped. He needs to fix it or at least give you a significant discount.

I hate to say it but . . .you've definitely "bottomed out". Perhaps even laterally, too. You need definite pocket work and the implants need to be placed under the muscle. I'm not sure why your PS would even suggest over the muscle. Nowadays, most do partial/full unders. Don't know if you had enough breast tissue prior.

I'm sorry that your PS isn't recognizing your problems. He may feel partially/fully responsible and therefore doesn't want to admit it. He should at least offer a discount to fix these problems. But really, I don't know if you'd want him to perform another surgery on you since you've ended up where you are now because of him.

I don't know where you are in the country (US or wherever). I could give you a recommendation for a fabulous PS whose main business is fixing other PS work. He's a revision specialist for breast augmentations. Of course, it would probably mean traveling and the full cost of another surgery. And BTW, I'm having a revision surgery with this PS because of another PS "mess up" so I totally feel your pain. Spent $8000 back in 2007, here I am in 2011 spending another $8000 to have another PS "fix" what was done. Makes me ill.

Let me know if you need a rec.

P. S. Your TT looks great. Hope your happy w/that!!

HI,

Thanks for your reply! How do you know if you've bottomed out? I spoke to my PS the other day over the phone. I have been to see him since they have dropped but I wanted to talk to him more and I asked him if what the medical term was for what has happened to me and he said there isn't one. I asked him if I have bottomed out and he said "NO". He said he couldn't really help me any further until he saw me in person. He said that I would be responsible for the cost of the revision b/c he was not negligent. That a PS can never know how an implant will behave in someone's body. Anyway I appreciate you responding to my post. I am so bummed. I've only had these 18 months and now I'm looking at having to redo them but of course I'll have to wait until the fall b/c I don't want to ruin my summer. DId you think my implants looked awful now that I've bottomed out?

Awful? That's a pretty strong word. Do they look as good as when you first had them done? Honestly? No. There is something definitely going on. Especially w/your left breast. In your 18month pic, you have some sort of puckering in the nipple and that breast sits lower.

If you google "bottoming out breast implants", you'll see variations of the condition. Your PS should have at least given a discount on a redo/revision. Most PS do . .for return patients . .for whatever reasons. It's true that PS can't guarantee that you'll turn out perfect or that you won't have any complications but most are accommodating if the situation should arise.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to suggest another BA website or not so hopefully I won't get into trouble or deleted, etc.

Go to JustBreastImplants.com--scroll to the bottom of the page---click on the message boards/forums-----click on "Ask a Surgeon"----Click on "Dr. Revis/Fort Lauderdale".

Post a message to him (or email him personally) and show him your pictures. He will give you an honest opinion on what is going on and what you need to fix whatever is going on and he will (if you ask) quote you an approx amount of how much he would charge to revise you. If anything, it's like an email 2nd opinion. It may be piece of mind that you're not crazy or being unrealistic about your breast augmentation expectations.

And here's something else to think about. If your original PS is going to charge you full price for a redo, you might want to look into someone else doing the revision. Just a thought.

Heather,

Thanks so much for your help! I will do what you suggest. Your right, if he isn't going to give me a discount maybe I should look into someone else doing the revision. He should at least give me a discount for being a repeat customer. Another surgeon could still use my same implants I'm assuming as long as there is nothing wrong with them.
Thanks again for all your help. I really do appreciate you taking the time to sit down and write me a nice long message. I really don't know who to trust. Right now I feel really stupid for getting overs but I trusted the PS and his expertise. He sounded very confident that the sub-facial placement was correct for me. Oh well....

Meisje,

Hey, Saw that you posted to Dr. Revis on the website that I recommended. Unfortunately that website is HEAVILY moderated/censored. So when you posted that you had pics on this website (makemeheal), the forum moderator censored it out. Therefore, Dr. Revis cannot access your pics or even know what other website you were talking about.

2 things-You can either upload those pics to a free photo website and then cut/paste to actual post. Or email him directly-drdonrevis@hotmail.com. and then link him back here to your photo album (that might be the easiest).

It may take a couple of days for him to respond, don't fret. He does surgery M-W-F but does answer emails and such after hours.

Hope this all helps.

Hey,

Thanks for looking out for me. I was worried that would happen. I don't have any other pictures though. I erase them all. Don't want those lying around on my computer for the kids to see. I am fretting though. I feel like I can't get this taken care of until the fall and until then I guess it's push-up bras for me. You should see me today. Got my VS bra which I bought about a year ago when I didn't need it cause the girls were where they should be. Anyway, once again appreciate all your help!!!

THANKS!!!
