My right side not dropping

My right side not dropping

Postby CinBin » Tue Jun 03, 2008 7:03 am

I've never done this before. I am 1.5 weeks post-op right side has loose baggy skin underneath. Not dropped and nipple pointing downward. I'm worried.

Thanks for replying so quick

Postby CinBin » Tue Jun 03, 2008 8:05 am

Wow, that was a quick reply. I guess I just need reassurance. When its your body you kind of freak. One side had dropped on the first day. The right side still hasn't. I'm thinking maybe the PS didn't make a big enough pocket for the right side to drop into. I can push it down but it just keeps coming back up. It's like it is stuck to the muscle. Hate this phase. Thanks for your replie though it gives me hope.

Hi CinBin,

Yep, me too! You'll be hearing from more of us - you're not alone lol!

I'm 10 wks PO and my right is still sitting higher and I can totally assure you we ALL have the same thoughts and feelings especially that we think the pocket needs to be lowered (that was one of my first posts too lol!). One lady Phillyrose will actually be getting her pocket lowered due to her right one being high (I think the majority have 'righties' too!). Her procedure is June 12th I believe and she will be posting pics for us to see. So I'm very curious to see how that goes. I hope it works for her!

But it's just the more dominant muscle side for you and it's gripping onto the implant until it loosens. Most lopsidedness does get better but you need to be patient.

Angela :)

Hi there- I'm 6 1/2 weeks post op and have a high right implant- you're not alone! You might want to ask your plastic surgeon if he recommends any particular massage technique or wearing a bra band... but mostly I think it requires some patience. Hang in there! :)

Running and dropping.

Postby CinBin » Tue Jun 03, 2008 2:36 pm

Thanks everyone for your support. Another question. I'm a runner and started running 10km one week post-op. I wonder if this will make my right boob drop sooner or later? It is kinds of painful but I wear a really tight sports bra. After a few minutes I get used to the feeling. Has anyone begun running even if there boobs haven't dropped yet? My PS said it was okay so - I'm doing it. Only thing is - right after a run they both feel really soar and rock hard and I need to take muscle relaxents.
I still take the Robaxin practically all day long to get that full/tight/I want to nurse feeling gone.

What is your experience running?
Does anyone else still take Robaxin to relax muscles and for how long?

I'm with ya

Postby tbutt » Wed Jun 04, 2008 6:20 am

I'm with ya. My righty is still high and I can't wait for it to drop! I am right handed, so that muscle is tighter anyways. I went back to the gym and noticed that they tighten up during my workouts too. I don't use relaxers, just a warm shower and relax on the couch before going to bed. I did take some advil for the slight soreness I felt the next morning. I have a Mondor Cord under my lefty, which I think causes this one to tighten up more and it's a little sorer too. Hoping it goes away soon. The website someone told me about on here, said they can take up to 6 weeks to go away. I'm still waiting.

Well, I hope this helps give you some insight. Just my experience. Hope you get other answers that may help you.

I am 9 weeks p/o today and I had the same issue with my right breast it sat high for several weeks. Now it has finally evened out. My PS said it was normal and to do more downward massage on the higher side. I also wore the band for the passed 9 weeks. And boy has it helped greatly.

Hi.. maybe I can help..

Postby PhillyRose » Wed Jun 04, 2008 4:41 pm

I am in the same boat.. I am now 10 weeks PO and am scheduled to have my revision next week.. mine is just plain stuck.. anyway both were high initally and the left took a month to drop but it was high one day and nice the next so i thought there was hope for the other.. well, no change so it looks like I need it.. most of the ladies on here have dropped and are looking good so please don't assume that you need the pocket open. Give it time, you are still early..

As for the running, i started at 7 weeks. I am supposed to be training for a marathon and am on hold until i heal from this second surgery. However, I used a normal sports bra when I started and holy cow did my boobs wake up sore.. you need a good bra, but even with almost three weeks of running, no drop for me.. but again, mine is stuck  or so that is how it seems... maybe for you it will help but make sure to wear a good bra, becasue you will get sore..

Me too CinBin... high righty. My first post on the boards here was about the same thing and I STILL wonder if my doc screwed something up. I just had my 10wk post op visit and he just went on and on about how beautiful they look and that I shouldn't be so hard on myself and that no one is exactly the same on both sides... meanwhile I'm sitting there thinkin "buddy, I'm not being hard on myself, I'm being hard on YOU the one I paid all that cash to!" Anyhow... I'm looking more and more even every week, so hopefully by six months they'll be close enough that I don't feel lopsided. You can check out my pics if you want, looking at other people's pics helped me alot when I was freaking out. Hang in there!

On a positive note... I went bra shopping today while following advice I recieved here about how to tell if the bra fits and surprisingly I'm not a 36 or 38 D... I'm a 34 or 36 DD and my back feels AWESOME in the size that fits WAHOOOO!!!!!!!!

high right side

Postby princessmalaya » Mon Jun 09, 2008 6:23 pm

Hi. I had my additions 4 weeks ago tomorrow, and also have a right side higher. It's also tighter to my body. I am quite fit. I weight train 3 to 4 days a week, and does anyone know if that could have added to the problem? My left side dropped about 2 days after surgery and looks perfect. I feel like I have 2 different people's boobs on my body! And getting very impatient! The bottom of my boobs are almost inline and my nipples are the same. The boobs are just different shapes! Any advice? I just want to feel happy about my boobs, not down in the dumps!

right side not dropping

Postby CinBin » Mon Jun 09, 2008 7:18 pm

I think I spoke to soon about dropping. I went to go try on bras and I think all of the doing hooks up and what not made my rightie go up again. Back at square one - hope not! :x

Yeah, that's exactly what I think it is - the weight training. If I'd have known I would have stopped weight training a few weeks beforehand. Everytime I lift my right arm my boob goes up and becomes square. At least yours are the same level at the bottom and your nipples are in-line. Mine aren't. My right nipple is 1/2 inch out and pointing downwards when my rightie turns into a square but when it the implant drops for a period of time my nipple looks a lot better and more even with the other one. I feel the muscle ALOT at the top when my breast is square shapped. I used to work out 6 out of 7 days/week. Various stuff - weight training, spinning class, body sculpt class with weights and running 10km. I bet if I hadn't been doing that my rightie might be dropped by now. I built up some serious chest muscles upstairs. Anyway, I'm finding that the running is actually helping. I have not gone back to weights and won't for a very long time. I think that would just about kill me right now. Just wear two sports bras if you run. I think the movement sort of massages and keeps the pocket opened up. Anyway my ps gave me the go ahead to run. I'd get okay from my ps before I did that if I were you. Sometimes gals have had lifts and that different incisions and that would make running more difficult.

Good luck and let us know what happens.
