Breast Lift - Dr. Horndeski. Concerned...vets, where are u?

Hi Ladies,

So I believe the last stop (for now) on my journey to bettering my body is a breast lift without implants. I found Dr. Horndeski in Texas, and he does an "ultimate breast lift" that leaves minimal scarring. I would just have a periareolar scar! I'd been told by other doctors that this scar pattern wouldn't be possible on me, so you can imagine how happy this made me! I really like his patient gallery on his site, and his office has sent me a few (read: 2) patients' results that are beautiful too. He's relatively affordable, but my dilemma is this: I can't find a lot of girls here on mmh who have gone to him! He has great RealSelf reviews, but only like...5-7 of them have pics. Some of the posters on here about him have only one post...seems like his office is writing reviews! [-X He seems like a great doc, but that worries me just a little. Any insight would be appreciated!

I had a look at his site. His pics look good. My only concern is in the breast lift photos, I am fairly sure the afters also have implants as well

jahzara, Are your breasts on the smallish side and do you have very much sag?
I did googling about breast lifts before I had mine and everything I read about just getting a lift by incision around the areola is, you shouldn't have much sagging at all in order to get decent results, and that kind of lift looks best with implants because without them it can cause the areola to pucker and that kind of incision only with no implant tends to flatten out the breast and cause the areola to widen. I would be wary of only one PS telling you it's possible when so many others said it wasn't advisable. There's always one that will be willing to give you what you want, but you might not be happy with the end results. I'd rather have the perky breasts that make me look good and have more scars that will fade in time, then a tiny scar and not be happy when I look at the shape of my breasts when I look in the mirror. I've read posts of women had who had the areola only lift have to go back 2 and 3 times to try to fix the puckering and have the areola reduced because it stretched out due to the pressure of the stitches pulling on the areola. And some of them even had the implants. Maybe yours would work though. I know you have waited for this a long time as we messaged each other many months ago about getting lifts. I had a lollipop lift with auto augmentation in June and am quite happy with it. My Dr said with the lollipop lift you can get in there and reshape the breast tissue for a nicer shape with more projection . My scars are fading and not bothering me much at all. Of course I'm older and this is a great improvement over the sagging things I had before. The pictures on Dr Horndeski's website do look like they have implants also. I hope someone who had it done this way can add their input. Congrats on making it to the flat lands. I'm next.

Also, I may be totally wrong but it looks like although he didn't use a vertical incision in his breast lifts , it looks to me that there seems to be an incison made UNDER the breast and curving up a little to the cleaveage area. I don't think I would like an incision there. My PS said they can move up eventually and will be visible. And can give you a funky, flattish shaped breast without an implant in there. Vertical incisions seem to fade quicker then nipple incisions. My vertical incision scar, as far as fading, looks way better then my nipple incision right now. But what ever you choose I hope it works out well for you.

Read between the lines. Some of the sites on this PS have little 'more review' alerts after you scroll past the glowing incredulous reviews. Read those on ALL review sites. They are hidden out of sight for a reason.
This PS would not be someone I would allow to perform any major cosmetic work on my person.

If a surgeon botches you, you CAN sue. It is considered a personal injury case and you pay a fee to the lawyer from your settlement when recovery is made. Many people are misinformed and believe they must pay a lawyer out of pocket to sue a negligent doctor. Not so.

If the case is legitimate and meritorious, the lawyer will take it upon a contingency basis. If it settles out of court, they will take a third of the spoils. If it goes to court, 40% is their customary fee. Believe you me, doctors don't want a court record of malpractice and would prefer to settle. They figure their insurance rates will go up dramatically, but balance it against the big bucks they'll continue to make. If the case is horrific enough, their license to practice will be pulled permantly. Sad to say, people have had to die to get a bad doctor out of the system.

Think about if: If you couldn't sue a doctor, why must they carry MALPRACTICE INSURANCE? Precisely because they are vulnerable to be sued like all other USA mortals, and attorneys aren't as reticent to go after them as they once were. [-o<

There is a law in the USA against signing away your right to sue. In the case of an arbitration agreement that you may sign for employment, etc., you are only signing away your right to sue in a court of law. Arbitration is still suing, but just not 'in court'. I doubt your surgeon had you sign an arbitration agreement. That paper about risks, etc., that you have to initial and sign is not legally binding. It CANNOT state that you can't sue the PS if he ruined you in some way. They just like to intimidate us into thinking we are helpless against them!!! You'd be shocked to find out how many PS guys have been successfully sued and settled OUT OF COURT. This is why you will see 'no medical malpractice' by their names. It's only when it hits the courtroom that it becomes public record and can be seen by everyone. They try very hard to avoid a public record of causes of action against them. Why should a PS get away with nerve damage or disfigurement to your face or body when an auto body shop can get dragged in front of the magistrate and forced to fix your car correctly? Are they above the law? No! They just like to work on intimidation.
Someone I know sued a PS, got money, bought a Hummer and put SUED4IT on the plate.
I do not endorse frivolous law suits but if you have a legitimate cause of action, don't be intimidated against bringing it to justice.
Why did I write this? I saw a post by a woman whose breasts were ruined and she said 'He (the PS) didn't care because he wasn't responsible'. Yes, he was, but she signed a little paper that tricked her mind into thinking the opposite and he got away with it.
If you are in Houston or Texas in general, DAVIS AND DAVIS are very good medical malpractice lawyers.
YOU HAVE TWO YEARS FROM THE DATE OF SURGERY TO FILE A CAUSE OF ACTION. THE SOONER THE BETTER...DON'T WAIT TWO YEARS.

Answer: He uses a method whereby he inserts an internal bra inside of your breasts, under the visible scar,to push the bust up and out. If he has removed signficant tissue as in a reduction, then he has to be using implants to replace some of what he cut out. Otherwise, IHOP pancakes will be the logical result. I have not had the procedure but having something stiff unside and under my breasts sounds uncomfortable. Also, I don't need or want my breasts to look like guided missiles ready for detonation! The straight-out-and-up look is not natural, and even young women don't have it. It's a silly fantasy look from (photoshopped) porn mags, in my opinion. The female breast naturally slopes downward from the top to fuller at the nipple, and fullest under the nipple. It's like a tear drop shape, and very beautiful.

Don't know if you had him do the job, but this link is very troubling. It was well hidden but I found it. If it doesn't open directly from this site, just copy/paste it into your address bar and look at all of it.

Thought I already posted this link but seems to have disappeared. It is troubling. To see all of the comments people offered Big Red, who has breast work done, you must join the Real Self forum, which only takes a few minutes. I urge people to check this out in the name of what is right!
