Breast Lift scheduled with local anesthesia only

Breast Lift scheduled with local anesthesia only

Postby smallandperky » Mon Apr 11, 2011 9:26 am

Hello Everyone. This is my first post. I am scheduled for a breast lift in 10 days and am having local anesthesia only. Im wondering if anyone else has gone through this. Im nervous for the initial pain when they inject the anesthesia. I had a breast reduction when I was 19 and was very happy with my results. 2 kids and some weightloss later and my breasts were looking a little deflated at 35 years old. I am not having implants as I really want small perky breast. The surgeon said its only a small amount of skin he needs to move. He said the sagging was minimal and my nipples are still in a good spot location wise. I am also having my nipples reduced. My areola are ok size wise, but for some reason after having kids, my nipples stick out really far.....like little clam necks :( I currently wear a 32 C cup. Im very short and petite but I feel like my breast size fits my body well enough. I wouldnt complain if they were a tad bit larger, but I dont want it enough to go with implants. I will try to post some before pictures before my surgery and will post pictures after. Ive had a really hard time finding pictures of people with small breasts that had a lift with no implants so maybe my story will help someone else. If anyone has any info on going through just local anesthesia only I would love to hear about your experience. Thanks!

I saw that you haven't received any responses yet so I just wanted to post and tell you good luck with your upcoming procedure! I don't have the same situation as you so I'm unable to offer any relative advice. But, in my opinion, if your surgeon believes he can do what he needs to do for you to achieve the look you want with local anesthesia, that sounds like a good thing! Keep us posted : )

Thank you! I will definitely post about my experience. I called the PS office yesterday because I was getting nervous and they were so great. Talked me through everything again.

I back from my procedure! It was super easy and painless!!! the Dr was amazing! I can't write too much as I've taken a Valium but I just wanted to let everyone know a quick update. I'll try to post again tomorrow.

Haha. I was just reading that last post, Im taking vicodine for pain, not valium! So Im coming up on 24 hours and am anxious to take the wrap off and shower. It will give me a good chance to see how things are looking. I still feel really good. The pain is very minimal. I had been taking arnica montana and as far as I can tell, there are no bruises yet. I did have my nipples reduced and I can somewhat peek at them. They are smaller, but still seem big to me. I guess theres only so much that can be taken off. I know it will be weeks before they will look normal so Im trying to be patient. Im still very shocked at how easy it was to go in and have this done with the local anestesia only. If anyone is having a small lift and is giving this option, I definitely recommend it. I think it took about 45 minutes to an hour on each breast. The Dr. talked to me a little and at times I dozed off. I brought my shuffle so I had music playing. I could have looked down and watched what they were doing, but mostly I just layed there with my eyes closed pretending I was somewhere else. It actually was nice because if I were home I would have been chasing after my 2 kids, doing laundry, cooking or cleaning. Just getting to lay and listen to music felt like a treat lol. Ok, so Im still on the vicodine so Im sure Im rambling in this post. I will post more as I progress. if I can ever learn how to post pics I will be sure and do that.

Hi
I am currently researching a breast lift. I have seen 5 surgeons so far. One surgeon suggested a lift under local anesthesia. I also just want perkier breasts and not large ones. He is the only surgeon suggesting this. The others said a loli pop lift and 2 really want to add an implant.
I really like the option of local anesthesia but I also want a good lift for tight breasts.

I was wondering how your results are. Do you have any before and after pictures.

Hi I had the same problem one doctor said the lollipop and I was thinking about the scar and I heal to slow so I went to another one these one said just the implant over the muscle and I didit like that but the first doctor told me you can't have just the implant because your nipples are low so if I put the implant the nipples are going to facing down so make sense the implant is is going to add body but is not going to fix the problem , I visit a lot of doctors and all of them said general anesthesia .
And finally my doctor I fall in love when if told me you can chose between the lollipop or the periolar because I was in the middle of pitosis but he told me the pros and contr .
So the point is I make the best thing asking a lots of question love my doctor he was right about the general anesthesia , my breast lift took 4 hours and a half.
