Finally!!!

Finally!!!

Postby bauba » Sat Jan 07, 2012 9:41 am

I have been through hell the last, yes count them, 14 weeks! But I am soooo happy to report that my boobs don't hurt anymore!!!!!! I don't know if its the Bactrim/clindimycin combo I'm taking or the scar stuff with hydrocortisone or the sutures dissolving finally....but I'll take it!!! :) I just know that my other three rounds of antibiotics didn't make me feel anywhere near this good. Today, for the first day since September 29th, I LOVE my boobs! Maybe there is a light at the endof the tunnel that doesn't require taking these puppies out. Woot woot!

I'm SO happy for you!!!!! How long of a course of those abx are you going to do? How long have you been on them? Your boobs really do look great. So does your tummy.

Just kidding! It's been a long time, but honestly I've been avoiding this site...for 2 reasons. 1) I don't want to be a whiner and 2) I don't want to freak everyone out who is in the recovery process. But I need help....I don't know what to do.

It's been 8 months since my ba/bl now and I still hurt! I've taken 7 rounds of antibiotics, one for 7 weeks. They still don't know what's wrong with me and I don't know what to do :((crying). They don't even know if I have an infection or not. My only options are to 1) live with it and hope it doesn't get worse, 2) have the problem side replaced with another implant and a capsulotomy or whatever you call it, or 3) have them both taken out and cut my losses. Problem is, having surgery again could fix the problem or make it worse! The experts don't know and I don't know how I can make a decision like that!

My scars hurt. I have a heavy feeling pain on the under/outside of my breast and an ache that runs down my arm that goes away when I wear a supportive bra. But the nipple hurts all the time. Any ideas? Any advice?

Well, you look wonderful. But, it's awful to hear you have to be in pain. I sometimes get an odd pain or there are days where I feel off, but I can't say I really have pain issues. I have found realself.com to be a good resource for advice - they have a free, doctor Q and A forum. The doctors over there are pretty active and helpful (as well as honest). I had a concern at one time and posted. They are much more likely to respond if you post before and after pictures from what I have seen. I do think with more time, things can get better. After my armlift, I had issues with my right arm that I never had with my left arm. At a year out, my left arm still feels off pretty much on a daily basis. But, it has slowly gotten better since Day 1, and there have been improvements since month 8 for sure. I do feel that with more time (as does my doc) that it will return to normal.

You have been suffering for such a long time! I can't imagine being in pain for all this time. You have got to do something about this. Obviously abx aren't helping. 7 courses!?! Only one side is bothering you? Do you have evidence of capsular contracture on that side? If so definately just replace it and have them fix it. Keep us posted.

Hi Jodhis! Long time....how are YOU? Ya, only one side is hurting. My doc says I don't have cc or bottoming out. Another doctor, who has only seen pics says I am bottoming out. But if that were all it is, antibiotics wouldn't help....so who the crud knows! All I know is I'm scheduled for surgery in 2 weeks and I don't have a clue what were doing! Scary.
