puffy nipples after breat lift ?

Postby Kaza » Thu Apr 19, 2007 1:44 pm

Hi ladies. I know what you are saying. I was expecting a better shape after this, but at the moment!! Yuk. I went and tried on a top for a wedding this weekend and it looked terrible. My boobies look flat and becasue of the swelling on the sides, it looks like I have more under my arms than in front. These sports bras are not flattering in the least. But I must say the tape is helping to flatten out the scars. It is so much cheaper than the silicone, it doesnt itch and you cant tell I am wearing it. It is called "Micropore". You can get it from the pharmacy. Have to go to work. Bye for now fellow lifters. Kaza

0447. I had the lift done by Dr Silferskoid at the Ashford hospital in Adelaide. I am going to question him about this when I go for my 4 week appointment. I specifically asked him to lipo under my arms to reduce how much of my breast is under there. So if he didnt, he had better watch out, because as I was going under I reminded him again!!
Are you in Australia??? Kaza in Oz, where it has finally rained, not much, but it felt good!

Mara30, have you already purchased that cica stuff? It is so expensive here $90. My ps said that the micropore tape does the same. So far I agree, my scars are lovely and flat. Yet you have to use it for 2-3 months, so either way sticky is here to stay :? Getting there Kaza

Oh my god ladies I am so glad to have found this site!!

I had a breat lift (I was born with saggy breasts, I am slim bulid and you never would have guessed!). Anyway, my nipples are healing totally differently and I am freaking out about. One areloa has flattened out and is much bigger than I would have liked. The other is small and puffy. So pleased to hear it isn't just me!

I am going to see surgeon on Thursday but again so glad I found you.

xx

Dood, welcome to the site. :D The ladies here are very supportive and are at different stages of healing. When did you have your BL done? I have noticed that one is slightly bigger than the other and it is the puffy one that looks smaller. I reckon the one that isnt puffy appears bigger because it is flat and smooth. The puffy one is raised and not lying flat, so it appears smaller. I have noticed that many of the ladies on this site have found that time is the all healer!!! So ask your ps when you go, but you may find the answer is time. I am waiting too, so you are not alone honey. \:D/

Thanks for your welcome and your response!

I had mine done 5th Feb - so about 2 1/2 months ago. I just had a peri areola lift without implant. At first they looked great but in the last few weeks my left nipple has flattened out and the right has become small and puffy. It has been really freaking me out.

Like other women on here I was so excited about getting this done and now it is a daily worry. I am not in a relationship at the moment – which I am quite glad of now!... But I did recently meet this guy and I decided not to take it any further (ie: with dates or anything else!) because of my ‘problem’ – how on earth would I explain it lol!

I feel like a bit of a freak :( and all I wanted was to look normal!! I hope you are right about the time thing. I am seeing surgeon tomorrow morning... Thanks again

Dont worry, just wait and see what the ps says. I had a lollipop incision, so the whole nipple was cut around and there is an incision that goes straight down until it reaches the crease. By the sounds of it, you only had an incision around the bottom of the aroela, is that right? :? It seems to be the way of things, that one side seems to heal faster and better than the other! Take care and I will be thinking of you, I have a follow up appointment tomorrow with my ps. kaza xx

I am in my 3rd month post-op and the incision around my areola is still very noticeable by the feel. My areolas seem like they are puffy and stick out funny. Is this a normal part of the healing process? Will they ever look "normal"?

The cica-care gel sheets are working I guess. They do seem to be softening up but very little that I can tell. The sheet was $60.00. After reading all the entries I think I will try a brad from the pharmacy if it works just as well. :P Maybe if I had been started on the silicone sheets by the 8th week post opp the results would be better?

I am 3 weeks out mastoplexy and my left areola is puffy. My PS said it is scar tissue and that it will go away. Just wondering if any of you had a good experience with the circa pads or micropore tape? How do I use it? And....does it get better in time?
Thank u!!

Hi, I'm 5 mos out from a breast lift and my areolas are still puffy when not erect. My Dr said that it should have resolved itself by now, if it was just swelling etc. That sometimes during a breast lift, reduction, implants etc, if tissue is pressing up against, or into the areola, they can look puffy like that. It's called "herniated areola" , and will probably need a revison of some sort if it bothers me. I thought maybe when I get my tummy tuck next year I might get the revision.
