puffy nipples after breat lift ?

puffy nipples after breat lift ?

Postby mara30 » Fri Apr 13, 2007 9:42 pm

Just wondering if anyone knows about how long it takes for the puffy look to go away after a breast lift. I am in my 3rd month post-op and the incision around my areola is still very noticeable by the feel. My areolas seem like they are puffy and stick out funny. Is this a normal part of the healing process? Will they ever look "normal"?

I had a lift and FTT on Feb. 26th, and actually was wondering the same thing about the nipples. Mine are like that too, but I thought that that was just the way the dr. sewed them back on? I def. did not have puffy ones before, and actually think they look funny when they are like that. Be anxious to know if anyone has an answer to this question... :)

I have puffy areola too after my BA/BL one month ago. I thought it was because of the high profile implant. It's just probably part of the healing process.

I have my 1st follow up visit w/my surgeon since my 2 week checkup. I'll ask about the "puffy nipple" issue and post what he says. Since it is only 1 side that looks funny I hope I wont have to have another surgery to fix it.

With mine sometimes it only the edges but other times the swelling, I assume, makes the areola look like balloons or like little pancakes glued to my breasts.

I am only 20 days postop and wondered if they are going to look like little pancakes forever, now??? I have looked at others photos and it looks like they flatten out. We just have to be patient. My ps makes us wear this micropore tape that does the same thing as the silicone gel and is alot cheaper. So I am bra wearing and taped up 24/7. These girls are going now where in a hurry

puffy areola

Postby Pattibee » Tue Apr 17, 2007 1:07 pm

Hi Ladies,
I am 2 months 1 wk out and my left areola is still puffy and does not match my other one. It is raised where my right one is stretched and flat. I did have the full anchor lift. I am really trying to be patient. I hope things change. My PS says not to make any judgements until 3mo. I am thinking about placing a silicone scar sheet over it to keep it flat against my breast.

hi Patti,
My ps told me the pressure of the silicone will flatten out the scars.Mine seems to be working so definately worth a try.kind of itchy but i guess because it is breakng the scar down.I have one side that also looks better than the other but I am so tring to be patient ....

puffiness

Postby llandcoolj » Tue Apr 17, 2007 10:10 pm

I am only 3 and a 1/2 weeks out, but my right nipple is puffy and the left is not. The top of the left breast is also a bit flatter then the right. My husband thinks they look the same, but its different to me. I also have been feeling like a cold burning pain...has anyone else experienced this? It is so depressing because I expected this to look fabulous and now it feels like a nightmare!

Went in today for my 3month post op check. My ps said the fuppy nipple was normal and gave me silicone patches to wear for 6 months he said everyday 24 hours a day, except for showering. He said it would soften out. Wow, 6 months is goin to seem like eternity!

Hi Ladies,
Are you covering your whole areola with the silicone patch or just around the edge? I want mine to be flat again so I am covering the whole areola except the nipple that sticks out. I take the square sheet and cut a little hole for the nipple to stick thru. Is any one else doing this?
