Puffy Nipples after Reduction

Puffy Nipples after Reduction

Postby annieboo22 » Sun Feb 27, 2011 8:44 pm

Hey Ladies,

SOOOO thankful I found this site!! I had Breast Reduction/Mastopexy about 14 days ago and I feel pretty great :) I do have 1 issue tho... My left Areola/nipple is looking "puffy" while my right nipple is lying nice and flat. Is this normal or is something to worry about??? When my nipple becomes erect it flattens out just like the other but then it puffs right back up!!! What does this MEAN!!!

I think it's normal until all of the swelling goes down, about 4-6 months. I had a BL with implants almost 2 months ago and they're still a little puffy  I think it'll get better as time passes.

From what i have been reading, its either a suture called a "purse stitch" that your PS put behind the areola, OR its just from healing. Either way- You will be ok :D Google search the purse stitch though. Its pretty informative... kinda sets your nerves at ease.
