After losing 80+ pounds in 2001-2002 and maintaining the weight loss, my breasts have deflated from a 44DD to now a 34C. They've never been perky, and I've been contemplating a BL for years and years. I finally saved up enough money and got the courage to do something about them. In a bra they look ok, but the tops of them are all "turkey neck" for those who can relate. I have a grade 2 ptosis.
My surgery for BL without implants is set for late December and I'm terrified. It will be a full anchor lift. I'm scared about everything! The anesthesia (twilight sedation), the pain, the scars, the results, sleeping on my back. But this is something I've wanted for so long. I've even started having nightmares about surgery... botched results, surgery in a dark room with a table lamp, waking up during anesthesia and watching everything, etc.
How did you guys mentally get yourselves through it? I have an overactive imagination to begin with lol. I've only had surgery one time when I was 14. I had surgery on my adnoids/sinuses.
Hello and welcome. Your fears and reservations are not uncommon and many of us deal with the same feelings once the decision for surgery has been made. But if this is something you've wanted for a long time and have set your mind to pursuing, that choice is done and now it's time to move forward with the plan and put all your negative thoughts "in a box and close the lid." You can do this literally. It's a mental game I've used in my regular line of work. Write down each fear and negative thought on an index card and place each, one by one, in a shoe box. As you place each one in the box, reinforce to yourself why this thought can be put away (no lights in the OR - on the card: ORs are well equipped and brightly lit with ample electricity).
Keep in touch with your surgeon. If you have any specific questions make sure you give him a call and address those questions with him preop. Before you know it you will be on the healing side and enjoying your new figure for many years to come.
you are not alone girl! i have the same feelings before the surgery but somehow i managed to handle it. it's all in the mind. just imagine how you'd look like after all this stuffs, it will help build courage. try it!
It is scary. I'm also worried about the same things as well as losing nipple sensation. My procedure (along w/ TT) is in a couple weeks and I'm getting very anxious. But I am confident about my doctor and did my homework so it should be fine.
Don't worry I had a FTT & BL (no aug) 4 weeks ago...to be completely honest the BL was a walk in the park. Hardly any pain and my breasts look amazing!!!!! I am only 28 but due to weight loss and 2 pregnancies my breasts look like they belong to an 80 year old woman...I had the anchor lift (as I had stage 2 ptosis.) I am SO happy and would recommend it to anyone!!!!! It's a great surgery!!!!
Thank you so much, all of you!! It really helps just hearing positive feedback and knowing that I'm not alone with the anxiety. I will definitely post before/after pics when my time gets closer.
