550 gm to be removed..how small is TOO small..scared!

Postby gkc14 » Fri Dec 06, 2013 9:53 am

I had my consultation in October and just got the call that the insurance has approved my surgery at 100% (IF i do it yet this year becuase I have met my deductible already this year), so I have my surgery scheduled for 12/23/2013. I am ready and excited, but am now second guessing it, becuase my PS informed me that my insurance requires 550 gm's removed from each side. He said it would probably take me to a large b or small c. I am currently a 42DD/DDD (although I have never found a bra that fits me good, so really have no idea..I spill out of this one). I really can not envision what this would be like. It sounds small, especially the b part. I am only slightly overweight, although based on scale, I 'sound' more overweight. I am 5'5" and weigh 185, but other than my breasts, the weight is evenly distributed. I wear a size 10-12, (and XL-XXL shirts..uggh) so would describe myself as average. My dh is concerned that I will look disporportionate. I read on one post that just your cup size changes, but I really dont see how that could be. I mean who has heard of a 42/44 b?
i just am getting nervous that it will be TOO small. I long to wear regular bra's, regular tshirts, regular bathing suits, button down shirts that I can actually button and not have to pin the gap--but I dont want to have NOTHING either.

I have not had a BR - my consult is in early January. But I am a 36DDD and I want to be a B, which is what I was in college. As far as I'm concerned, the smaller the better! But for you, I think you should ask your PS what size you can expect to be with that amount taken out. Good luck! Keep us posted on how it goes.
