4 days to go - stopping MJ?

4 days to go - stopping MJ?

Postby 34Hnomore » Tue Aug 23, 2016 3:21 pm

Hello everyone!

I am scheduled for my procedure this coming Saturday. I am 25 years old, 150 lbs, 5'5" in height and I have always been extremely healthy. I have been following my instructions to a T and even quit drinking a week ahead even though my PS only suggests stopping 48 hours ahead. I quit smoking cigarettes over a year and a half ago and avoid them and other smokers like the plague so there is absolutely no chance for nicotine or tobacco to be anywhere near my system.

However... I am worried that I did not quit marijuana far enough in advance. Today (4 days pre-op) will be my first day no MJ use. Honestly, I didn't even think it would be a problem because my doctor never asked about it or told me to avoid it! However, as the day looms nearer and as I go over every little thing that could go wrong (thanks a lot, anxiety) I realize that my MJ use could be an issue. For reference, I usually have some when I wake up in the morning to help my IBD issues.

I am planning on telling my anesthesiologist right before my procedure, because I did want to let them know about my usage. I am mainly worried about the effects of anesthesia and MJ and not coming back once they put me under.... Has anyone else experienced this before?

Any advice? :(

Don't worry, everything will be fine and good to hear that you quit smoking.
Smoking really effects to our health as well as to our teeth also. Many people don't realize the damage that smoking does to their mouth, gums and teeth. My cousin shared his experienced with me that he was also suffering from his dental problem because of doing the smoking. He consulted with the dentist for his dental implant in Los Angeles. His teeth problems were sorted with the help of the therapy offered by the dentist. After his dental treatment, he decided to quit smoking. Smoking is injurious to health.
