Did you get supplemental insurance to cover complications?

Did you get supplemental insurance to cover complications?

I'm new here so I apologize if I'm doing this wrong. I need a breast reduction, all my doctors are urging me to get one and it's been a long time coming. The problem is that my health insurance won't cover it. Now, I've been saving up for this procedure for a loooong time because I knew it would be difficult to get insurance to cover it, so paying for the insurance isn't the issue, it's the after care. If I develop an infection or other complications after the surgery, my insurance won't cover it since the surgery was 'elective' and out-of-pocket. I know from past experience that the costs of complications can run thousands to hundreds of thousands and my family can't afford that kind of debt.

So I'm looking for supplemental insurance to cover complications from the surgery. Obviously I hope they don't happen and I don't really expect them to happen but I want to be prepared for anything. Did any of you get supplemental insurance and do you have any advice regarding SI?
