need opinions on armpit lipo vs not! How much was it? Thanks
Re: got my insurance approval :)congrats!
I had lipo on the sides of my breast area just under my armpits.... is that the area you mean? I'm glad I did it gives you a nice contour look....no bulges. Many ladies that have had it done are happy they did. I am one of them. My sister inlaw never had her sides lipo and she looks like a round tire tube affect no contour.
Re: got my insurance approval :)arm lipo - yes, if you can afford it, go for it, you will like the result so much better. Understand that this area will be more painful than the actual breast reduction for awhile - lipo hurts!!!!!!! As for your vacation days, you just need to check with your doctor - some have gone back to work, but there can be no lifiting or stretching arms involved. Be prepared you will be very tired at the end of the day if you go back to work quickly. But it is all manageable if you are smart.
Surgery date: 11/14/07

Re: got my insurance approval :)Thanks for the replies - I think I'm gonna go for the armpit fat lipo! Thanks
Re: got my insurance approval :)I think you look a lot like I looked before. I'm guessing you were a great breast feeder?
My friends were always jealous that I could nurse while sleeping lyihg down! Whatever! Anyway, I had a BR, a Mini TT and Abdo lipo. My surgeon would not do the armpits at the same time as the reduction becaue the armpit lipo can affect blood flow, which affects healing of the breast tissue. If I'm not happy with my torso after a year of recovery, diet, and exercise, I might ask him to get rid of the armpit fat, which he said is a a snip and clip office procedure. good luck, I look forward to hearing about your progress! Mari
Re: got my insurance approval :)I have not had a breast reduction YET but I have had lipo, and I would suggest it highly if you are getting any part of your body pefected, because it will make your results ten times better...it will make the new girls stand out even more..but do not have your breast surgeon do the lipo unless he is experienced in this. Things can still go wrong with tiny little lipo areas....and many surgeons will try to add on things that they are not skilled in. Lipo is a b*tch bc I had my whole lower torso done for fat transfer and while i went down inches, i have two bulges on my lower back, and the right side is noticable, and its from fat left there and scar tissue.....so things can go wrong...and my surgeon was experienced in contouring but I will hopefully get this fixed after my breast reduction. Anyway good luck!

Re: got my insurance approval :)My surgery is scheduled for December 30th - I 'll be going back to work Jan 11th - hope that is enough time off.
Yes Mari I was a great breastfeeder. Well now I'm second thinking the lipo... I don't know what to think My Dr. says he does lipo all the time, I'm gonna ask him about the blood supply & healing thing. Thanks- Stacy
Re: got my insurance approval :)Congrats on securing a date. I just finished breastfeeding my 18month old about a week and 1/2 ago and now that I'm all dried up and my boobs have lost all their engorgement, I feel really squishy and flat! funny how I went from a DD to a huge huge huge DDD and now I feel smaller than normal, I'm thinking that I may now not be able to get my breast reduction
I sure hope I can, insurance is my only way to smaller boobs and if I don't have enough for them to remove then I'll be looking at a lift and I know that I cannot afford just a lift and insurance wont cover it, so I sure hope that I still have enough fat left. I want to go down to a small b and right now it looks like I have more skin and sag then actual breast mass
Re: got my insurance approval :)Well I've heard you need to wait a year after finishing breast feeding - not sure if that is true. Went from a huge DD to a H while breast feeding down to a huge DDD after.
I also was completely dependent upon insurance, if your hoping for a B I'm thinking they can still take enough out. Best Wishes!
