Who is this Dr. Fuentes in Mexico and aren't surgeons in

foreign countries not the best surgeons?

I know people can have a bad surgeon even in the states, but they have done many specials on television warning Americans not to go to other countries because they aren't overseen by medical boards or certified.

How do you all know that Dr. Fuentes is a legit surgeon and won't mess someone's body up? And I searched for him and he has no website so that alone makes me weary.

I'm not trying to start anything, but I am just a little weary about going to ps that are in foreign countries.

I mean, it could be the pr teams of America exaggerating cases so people won't flock to foreign countries for ps and leave them with no revenue but
I mean, America is suppose to be held to higher standards.

standards of care in each country, even the USA vary widely. That is why ALL need to check each clinic and Dr out.

There are the good , the bad and the ugly in each place

you do all the required checks on a surgeon that you would do in the states as in any other country

These doctors don't have the same boards governing them so how would we know if something really happened?:

you need to get the Dr credentials from the Dr's staff and then start verifying they are true..In each country you will need to find out who governs that Dr.

Ok, so I would have to find out what board governs in a particular country.

Has there been any bad things said about Fuentes and his work on here?

to find out more about Fuentes go up to the icon of the magnifying (sp)? glass at the top of the page and click on it and type in fuentes and you should find loads of information about the facility he practices out of and photos of his patients. While doing your research keep in mind that all docs', even those in the us., have had some patients with excellent outcomes while some may have been poor. this is a reality in the world of plastic surgery. Some comments are positive, some are not, You may also want to become a member of plastic surgery journeys a lot of Dr. Fuentes clients post on that site and, they have several message boards just for foreign countries, mexico included. I hope this helps you in your search.

a lot of people have gone to him, some say really positive things about the experience and some have mixed reviews. i am reluctant to go to mexico for surgery for two reasons - because of the long plan ride home (risk of clotting and all that) and because sometimes there is a different standard of hygeine there. I lived in latin america when I was a kid so I am not trying to be uppity but there were times when my mom would walk me out of doctors' offices because it was not clean. Some doctors do not have the same ideas about cleanliness in medical offices in latin america as they do in america and that is reality. but that is not a reflection on fuentes individually it is my opinion on foreign ps in general, not counting europe and canada of course.
