Hi guys - can somebody please advise me on sun exposure post peel. Summer is on its way and I'm concerned, of course. I ride which puts me in the sun for long periods and spend time at the pool. I do like to get a little color in the summer. Any advise, comments would be great. Thanks all. I'm almost two weeks post peel.
I really would not recommend using peels at all if you are in the sun and not completely blocked from it. It is counter productive, and in fact, will do more damage and age your skin more than if you had not done the peel.
I started Retin a at age 22, but the first few years or so I didn't understand that "avoid sun" meant, literally, do not get sun on your face. This was 25 years ago and they didn't make a huge deal about the sun (and no internet to get help).
My face ended up more damaged than if I had never used Retin A, and I did wear sunscreen, just not enough and was in the sun a lot.
One peel can make your skin extra sensitive to the sun for months.
