I've had one done by my plastic surgeon with 3 layers (I couldn't go till 4) and now I'm on my third day and my skin is very tight and flaking. I've been pulling at some of the flakies, I know I shouldn't . I'm just looking horrible right now and I wonder when it will be over... I'm sorry for the rant, but if there's anyone who's had a 15% TCA, how long did it take for you to start looking normal again?
I have done a few 15% TCAs with 2 layers at home. For me the 4th day is usually the worst, the fifth day better, by the sixth most of the peeling is done except for flakies here and there that are bothersome but don't look abnormal. Overall it might take 10 days or so to completely peel, but you should feel pretty normal by day 6.
Terri is right. The "snake-skin" should be gone within a week, with days 4 and 5 being the most gruesome . Just remember to be patient and don't try to rush nature along.
I'm on my fourth day now and there's been some peeling around my lips and eyes, but not that much yet. My fore head (which had soms scars) and my pigments were spot treated and especially those area's may still take some time to peel I think. I hope I can at least cover it up a bit by Christmas.
Hi...I'm on my third day of the peel and look pretty gruesome! My whole face is peeling and there is dark splotches... The only thing I'm worried about is that my forehead is not at all peeling...it just looks like there's a thin layer of glue on it and is all very tight, but doesn't look like it's going to peel. Is this normal? And they did my decolettage as well, but it also doesn't look like it will peel at all. Does anyone have any advice or knowledge about this?
They will peel, no worries. If you have that glue like skin now, it will peel off.
The "body" parts tend to take longer to peel (on me, anyway), so the chest may take longer. May not be a big massive peel, but that doesn't mean it didn't work! The chest is a sensitive area and many people can't peel it, so that's great it has worked for you. Don't push it and whatever you do, don't pick!
When you start to peel your forhead is usually the last to shed skin. Reason....You peel first on the parts of your face that moves the most. Soooo....around the mouth is first to peel.
