I am 7 weeks post-op and I am nervous about my chin. It seems very swollen and my face looks very long I had neck lipo and rhinoplasty with my large chin implant. I am nervous that I need to get a smaller implant put in. Did anyone else experience an overly elongated face or abnormal swelling at 7 weeks?
Hi I'm on my 8th day po and I also got a chin implant and lipo under the neck. I have all the same feelings as all of you. The swelling the bruises and the numbness. That's somewhat coming back to me but my scar is also just a tiny bit under my chin and is very hard. I'm just wondering if that goes away in time. And I have read that your suppose to message it in a circular motion. But hearing about all of you and how it takes months to heal makes me sad but also happy to hear I'm not alone. I also was told this is an easy procedure but not on your life. I've had one other surgery and that was so much easier to deal with. When it comes to your mouth and face I believe this is a very delicate area. If anyone has any advice on what to do to make this an easier process please let me know. Thank you
I'm 10 months out from a chin implant and it's been hell to be honest. I do hear however that many people are happy with their in time. Usually within 6 months you will see the result but it can take up to a year for some residual swelling to resolve.
Unfortunately in my case, it's too big for my face (makes me look masculine) and I only wanted some added projection but instead got a whole different face shape with is very unflattering. It makes my whole face look out of whack, because my features don't work together anymore (the surgeon also botched my nose by overly shortening it and ruining my nostrils so it all works together to look hideous).
I have consulted with several surgeons who all say my implant is in crooked (you can see that as well) and I have one chunk completely gone from one side, they are not sure why there is a piece missing. Anyhow, as soon as I can afford to, I have to have it all removed and a new one placed in (smaller with more of my old face shape). The doctor I will be revising it with will study my pictures and try to mimic my old shape more, so I can look like me again.
As for the numbness, I still am slightly numb but my better than I was at 6 months, I heard the nerves grow back very, very slowly as they are cut when it's inserted. But, now I have to do this all again, I will have the numbness for another year or so! ha. Great!
I definitely don't recommend a chin implant unless you really, really need it. I looked fine without it and let the surgeon talk me into it and wished I had not listened.
I am 17 days post chin implant some neck lipo and mini. I am tired of the numb chin and swollen still under chin and neck. I too had the bottom teeth jammed into bottom lip. My chin gets these pains like a pick being jammed in my chin. My doc saw me 10 days and said it all looks good. Us takes time. I had noooo idea it was going to be like this. I just want the numbness on bottom right lip to go to normal. I get a little nervous with the nerves trying to heal. Only on right side.
