Jaw augmentation?

Jaw augmentation?

Postby Esso » Wed Aug 17, 2011 1:46 am

here is my situation

I am 21 years old
recently lost 25Kgs
hoping to complete my "transformation"

Feel that my jaw is not wide (?) enough for the rest of my face
what i am seeking from an augmentation
-more balanced lower face, compared to my upper face
-more squared/larger jaw line
-more defined line under my chin

I am quite sure I have developed the habit of clenching my jaw to make it seem like I have a more defined jaw than i really do

Firstly, I realise that photos are the best way to answer these questions, so what type of photos do I need to take?
Something about 5ft away.... :?

thanks! :D

The only photo you really need to take is a Front one. Doctors like to see a side view aswell as 45 degree shot but one here we only really would need to see a front view.

I pretty much had the same thing you had i had quite a thin rounded jaw which i hated for many years as it made my face look long and thin so i was after getting jaw implants to make my jaw wider and giving my face a more balanced look.

I had them done about 2 and a half weeks ago and its made a huge difference to my face. Even though the swelling is ment to take months and months after a few weeks alot of it comes down and you can see the change.
Not only did it make my jaw wider its also made it more into a v shape rather than a rounded shape which i think is a much better look. When you see alot of models they nearly always have quite a masculin jaw structure.
i also had chin surgery 7 years ago which left me with a unsymmetrical chin + another complication but now i've had these jaw implants i can hardly notice that now.

The only thing i will say is compared to getting nose/chin surgery jaw surgery will alter you appearance quite alot depending on the size of the implants you get but its definatly worth it.

Five feet would be the minimum I would suggest. Spend $100 on a decent digital camera with zoom funtion. I recommend Sony Coolpix. Set the camera on a stationary platform about 4 feet from the miror at eye level. I recommend a a ladder. Point the camera at the mirror and stand looking at the camera via the mirror. You are now effectively 8' from the camera but can still operate it. I recommend the time delay. Use camera zoom function and crop accordingly. Front shot is most important, but 90 and 45s are desirable.
