Post Sliding Genioplasty bleeding

Hi Everyone

I had a sliding genioplasty 12 days ago and had consistent bleeding in my mouth ever since. I was freaking out slightly thinking I'd split stitches or something but saw my surgeon today and he said it's nothing to be afraid of. Apparently I have two holes in the incision line where the muscle is over stretched and needs to grow back naturally. In the meantime I need to syringe the holes with a 50/50 mix of saline and mouth wash vigorously after every meal to avoid infection. I'm vaguely relieved but slightly grossed out by the idea of holes in my face but whatevs. Has anybody else experienced this?

Apart from that the genioplasty has been great. A lot of initial pain has now subsided. I've got the usual 'dentist's mouth' numbness in my chin and bottom lip but hoping that will pass. The only downer has been lack of sleep and panic about the bleeding. Fingers crossed both will be sorted soon.
