Shaving down a Porex implant

Shaving down a Porex implant

Postby freiheit » Wed Jul 01, 2009 7:30 pm

I had a medium porex implant with wings placed in August 2007. I've always felt like it made my face too manly. I used to have a delicate, pointed chin but now it's U-shaped and brings my face down. How invasive is it to have them shave down the implant? Is it too late for that? I don't want it removed completely though. I can't go through the recovery process like it was for the initial surgery again! The bottom of my face feels so thick and heavy and i cry about it all the time =(

I'm pretty sure you can shave it down whenever. If you've had it for 2 years the scar tissue (w/e it's called) may have built up already though.

If I were you I'd consult a doctor. Not a surgeon but a doctor who knows about this stuff. They can direct you to a real good cosmetic surgeon

shaving down chin implant

Postby SoBeverlyHills » Fri Aug 14, 2009 12:35 pm

Hi, go to Dr. Zide in New York city. He does this all the time and in his office, so it will save you the OR etc. costs. He's very good and has a wonderful rep. He's done a few people I know. Im going to have my jaw implants burred down a bit.

chin

Postby SterlingRose » Fri Aug 14, 2009 5:47 pm

i think your chin looks fabulous-i just had one with wings put in and my PS said he can modify it whenever I want. In his office under a local. I just had it and was wondering how long it took for all the swelling, etc to subside. I am 3 weeks out and feel like I went a few rounds. Its pretty sore.
You look great. But, its how u see yourself
