Sliding Genioplasty considerations **PICS**

Sliding Genioplasty considerations **PICS**

Postby palma13 » Sat Jan 20, 2018 5:56 pm

I am considering a genioplasty and just wanted to make sure I was on the right track. Here are my pics: https://imgur.com/a/5sfWz

I have no delusions of wanting look like a model or that it would even be possible but just to communicate the aesthetic I would like is something like this. Both these individuals have split chins like me but thats about where the similarities end :) : https://imgur.com/a/4xUqq

My chin is smaller (vertical length) than I would like it to be. It would fit my relatively wide face better than a small chin. I have been sensitive about this for a while and now feel the need to take action. I also have a split chin which only exacerbates the small chin appearance. I am hoping to be able to lengthen it vertically and maybe project it forward if need be as well. However, my worry with forward advancement is it might make my already prominent mentolabial sulcus even deeper. I would prefer a flatter chin or at least a shallower sulcus. In anycase I was wondering how much would you reckon I would need in terms of vertical and horizontal lengthening in mm? On that note is there anyone you can recommend (could be paid) who I could consult to create a mockup.

My shortlist of docs to do the procedure are Dr Sinn, Posnick, Hobar, Robert Morin and Lamperti. Posnick seems more academic and he would be quite expensive especially for a SG...I don't know if I need to go to a world class expert for this procedure. Hobar and Morin though trained in craniofacial surgery but are not max fax. Though I am sure there aesthetic sense would be great. That leaves me Dr Sinn who seems like a really good option. What are your opinions on him and are there any others I should consider since I am needing mostly vertical length which makes it a little more complicated than a typical SG? (Feel free to PM as well) I should also mention there is an apparently great max fax in the city I am from. Dr Wittenberg. Everytime I look him up there are great reviews but also people saying they should be extra careful because he has a bunch of on going lawsuits. Not that I wanted to go to Arnett and Gunson but they won't consult on just aesthetic cases. Not really considering Majid Jamali for now. So after that are there any other names I should be considering?

During my consult I will be asking the Docs about how often their patients get permanent numbness, issues of ptosis etc.

Your input and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

A drop down genio (to elongate) along with some minor advancement.
There is a glitch in the MMH site where when I try to upload a morph, it says; 'sorry capacity quota full' or something like that. So, can't upload morph on here to show this.

If I upload anywhere, it would be on my own website. My maxfax section is publicly view able.
To that regard, if I take the time to morph someone, I don't like it when shortly later down the line, the person 'takes' the morph and then asks me to delete. So, let me know if you would like me to put it on my website.

I don't know why the link does not show. It's on the PUBLIC section of my board where you don't have to sign up to see it.

You can find it by going to my board. Look under the 'Facial Cosmetic Surgery' section and from there, click onto Maxillofacial Surgery section and from there, click on the post that says; 'morph'.

I'm sorry. I have NO IDEA WHY you are unable to access the PUBLIC section of my website. http://www.missjfacialplasticsurgery.com/MissJForum/
is the address. Not the direct link to your morph because that didn't work. Maybe try logging out of MMH and just putting the main address in your browser. Then look at the maxfax section of the boards and look for a post that says; 'morph'.

I tried all that I found the post and when I go into it I still can't see the image. Did you try uploading here on MMH again maybe the glitch in the system is fixed.

Won't upload on MMH.

ETA: I just tried using a proxy server (because I'm always logged in) and it said: [You cannot view/download attachments. Try to login or register.]
So, I guess no one who's not a member can see it which means no more morphs for MMH members since MMH won't let me upload them and I don't do photo sharing sites.
I sent you sign up info the other day.

Update to this:
I've just spent the past few days getting the tech whizzes at the server place to look into why photo attachments such as public morphs are not actually visible to 'guests' (non members) of my site . They figured it out. So, it should be visible now. Had something to do with what's in the ADMIN panel getting more cryptic and complex to me because the software developers keeping changing things.
Ideally, I wanted to just post directly on MMH but some glitch in MMH always says 'quoto capacity exceeded' or something like that when trying to upload an illustration.

Sorry about the delay in responding. I am in the middle of a hellish exam week. But the morph looks awesome thank you so much I just took a look. Wish the other changes like cheeks were as easy to correct as nose and chin. The jaw well I got about 20 lbs to lose before I hit my target weight so hopefully neck fat will come down or else neck lipo. First thing after finishing my exams I am going to figure out how to sign up for your forum. I appreciate that opportunity and you going out of your way to fix the technical glitches.

Well, thanx for calling it to my attention. I would have never known that it wasn't showing the photo attachments I put up on the sections non members could view.
