denture implants

Postby funnygoil » Mon Jun 15, 2009 9:59 pm

After spending months healing from having eight posts implanted and anticipating with excitement, the thought of getting my smile back, and being capable of eating like a normal human being again,I find myself, instead, extremely depressed, and unhappy with the way I look.I spent a large sum of money, on myself, and now I regret it.My teeth are small like a child's,and my gum's show with the slightest smile. My lips appear collapsed, and I feel that the placement of the teeth are the direct cause. My dentist says that this is all she can do for me,and suggests I go to a plastic surgeon or get botox for my lips. I feel as though she has given up on helping me,and I don't want to insult her or have a confrontation. My question is,should I insists that the teeth be redone correctly? should I go to a cosmetic dentist for a consultation? I resent paying more out of pocket, but i'm very displeased with the way I look. Thank you for any advice you can give.
Ps. My Dr is a DDs /cosmetic dentist.?

Yes do set up 2 or 3 consuls with CD's, and get their thoughts as what can be done and what the plan of action would be to get the look you are looking for...

Don't give up on your smile, healthy mouth and teeth --- there are so many things that can be done today to achieve the results you may be looking for...

My best, and please keep us posted,
Lisa :D

Some general dentists are not trained well enough in reconstruction of implants, as well as dentures that are fixed to the implants. Did she place bridges over the implants? Or an over-denture?

I would INSIST that they are done correctly! Or go see a prosthodontist that has experience with prosthetics involving implants! Also, where are you located?

I wish you the best of luck!
