How many impants for upper and lower dentures

Postby Myra2009 » Wed Apr 29, 2009 7:28 pm

How many implants does a person need to permanently fix lower and upper (without the palate plastic that comes usually with an upper denture)?

Anybody knows? :?:

Honestly, it just depends on your bone density, which also effects the size (width) implants they may use for you. You should go visit a few doctors and get different treatment plans. It's always best to get a few opinions, especially when it comes to your body/teeth!

You also have to remember that it is difficult to clean implants with a fixed denture. They have dentures that "pop" onto the implants, which makes it easier to clean. They can become infected and/or fail resulting in a lot of lost time and work! However if you are sure you can keep up with the cleaning portion and visit your dentist on a regular basis to check your implants, that may be a great way for you to go!
