Tetracyline stains.....how old?

Postby Santistevan » Mon Feb 16, 2009 1:13 pm

I was 15 years old when I started taking large doses of the anitbiotic. I just used the Crest White Strips and they worked. Is this only temporary? And can I get permanent stains even if I had all of my adult teeth?
Thanks

Hello Santisteven,

I have used the strips you are talking about and loved the results -- they have the strips where you use them to maintain the results in between the 7 or 14 day treatment --- however I NOW use NiteWhite ACP 22% I get it through my dentist, I'm an ortho pt now having my braces off couple years I wear clear retainers every-night per ortho orders, my dentist has OK'ed me to use them as my trays for the whitening, I have to clean retainers well after using the whitening...

Long story to say talk to your dentist about this product I totally give the NiteWhite two thumbs up...

Happy healthy bright white smiles to you,
Lisa :D

Mod Squad. Sorry I didnt say this earlier. I bought the daily use white strips that you mentioned and they are helping. I'm going to see my dentist on Tuesday and will ask him about the product youre using.

My guess would be that you would want to use them permanently. Even though the initial results may be "permanent" the original elements that caused your teeth to become discolored, whether it be smoking, age, diet, coffee, medications will cause your teeth to slowly again become discolored unless you change your lifestyle.
It could be months, it could be years before your teeth are not satisfactory anymore.
