Revitalash and eye color change

Postby jsh111302 » Mon May 12, 2008 11:16 am

Anyone using revitalash experience a change in the color of their eyes?

I am on mu second tube (he last one purchased almost a year ago) and I do have the red line at the base of my upper lashes but that is no big deal to me. However, my blue blue eyes have changed to a darker green color. My eyes were always kind of fickle between blue and green but I think this time it's more permanent.

Over the last year I only use the product sporadically but when I first started using I was consistent and remember getting the product in my eye on several occasions.

I just stopped using this altogether but was curious if anyone else experienced a color change to their iris?

Looking forward to responses!

I haven't had this problem and I have used it for a year now. My lashes are INSANELY long. I have one more tube of the original formula, and I am hoping that Allergan will come out with one this year. I love this product!

Susan,

What do you think of the Anastasia eyebrow gel? I have been using it for about 3 weeks. I cannot say I see any difference. Your thoughts please? Thanks.

I've been using the Revitalash without any issues as far as color change. I just happened to stumble across your post and wanted to share that my grandmother had her irises change colors during adulthood. She started out with brown eyes, had pictures of herself with brown eyes, my mother remembered her having brown eyes, but they gradually turned blue. By time I came along they were blue. I've never heard of it happening to anyone other than her, but know first hand that it can (have brown eyes myself, but giving up on them ever going to blue ,LOL).... so it probably is coincidental as far as color change and product useage. BTW, I was using LiLash before the revitalash, and it worked great for me, no stinging of the eyes, or discoloration of skin, but my eyes started getting itchy like an allergy. Don't know if it was seasonal or due to the LiLash, but when it was time for a new tube, I switched to the Revitalash... take care, O:)

Eye color change was a known side-effect of the "active" (but prescription) ingredient in the Revitalash when it was used for its original, medical purpose.

I have no experience with that product and so I can't really say.

JSH,

Do you have before and after pictures of the color change?

I just bought a bottle of Revialash and having blue eyes myself would like to see how much they can change...without turning brown, that is.

Revitalash changed my eye color

Postby peeker » Sat Nov 29, 2008 12:41 pm

44 yr. female with thinning sparse eyebrows and eyelashes. Started using Revitalash approx. a month ago. Within a few weeks I could see a noticeable difference in length and thickness. Yet, two days ago I noticed some brown spots on my blue eyes. I have discontinued using and can only hope there is no more damage to come. In doing further research via the internet it doesn't seem I am the only one this has happened to. I can't believe a cosmetic product is out there with such horrible permanent side affects without a HUGE class action lawsuit. I guess that's right around the corner.

The exact same thing has happened to me - its quite disturbing as revitalash didn't place this warning on their lable as did latisse, so I believed Revitalash to be safe from this horrible side effect. My doctor even commented that my eyes had changed color, so it is not my imagination. If there is an email address where we can discuss this privately, that would be helpful, please let me know. S

Are you using the new or old revitalash? I recently purchased and have been using it for about 3 weeks. I immediately got the red line on the lash line. I am not seeing great results although it may to soon to tell.

I am 23 years old. Started using Latisse at first-- it worked great and I did not see any eye color change effects. Then my friend suggested i use revitalash bc she had heard latisse makes your eyes brown. She gave me a free vial of revitalash that i used for about a month. My eye color literally changed from my original saphire bright blue eyes to this dull dark greenish color. It sucks. I even have pictures to proove. I was so upset there for awhile and I really want to file a lawsuit. Please contact me if anyone has had this happen to them as well.

I literally just made an account on this website so i could answer your question - i was browsing forums when i saw this!!

This product was marketed for eyelash growth AFTER it had been used to treat a medical condition. I believe it was glaucoma or something like that, they had noticed that the patients eyelashes were growing more while on the medication. One of the side effects is that it can change your eye colour, it doesn't happen to everyone, only a minority of people experience the changes. Since its a medication for the eye, this is sort of understandable, but most people view this as a beauty product just like makeup, which it's not - it's only been marketed as that.

''As a pharmacist, I was surprised to learn that the active ingredient in Revitalash was Latanoprost. This is a drug used in the treatment of glaucoma, the most common product in Europe containing it is Xalatan eyedrops. A well known side effect(at least, it's well-known to people in my profession) is increased lash growth and changes in the pigmentation of the iris.It is a prescription-only product in most countries.''
