The story of how I got to where I am is long. So in short I had the following... c-section - 6wks later completely reopened (fascia and all) 6 months after healing had surgery to correct scaring and pain. Resulted in an internal abcess, then 2 weeks later a large deep MRSA infection in the abdominal wall - reopened again. This time told to wait a minimum of a year before considering any options. My scaring and pain is worse this time around than first. In fact it continued to progress for over a years time. Its now been two years.
I am soon going to be starting the process of getting this fixed to hopefully live without pain again and move on with life. I have concerns though. I have a hard lump from scar line almost to belly button. I figure a full TT will take care of that. Its the pubic area im worried about.
I have a large mass of scar tissue across the top of it, then what feel like this bands on both sides. These go into the groin area and are very firmly attatched. The result is a narrowed pubic area that is more like a oval ball. I have hypersensitivy on the top area of it. Rest is just painful. Can this be safely fixed somehow? I am thinking that most likely it may involve more than one surgery? I dont see how you could do a full TT and repair this together. Or at all... I have pictures if you want to see all this. I know my best answers will be from my own doctor(s) but I am just getting ideas and opinions.
TheEnd; Thanks for the inquiry. Really impossible to be definitive with an answer. From the little info + photos I would recommend the following conservative approach. I would first do a mini-extended tummy tuck scar revision and pubic release. NO muscle repair and no real pulling. This would correct the scarring and unevenness and pubic contracture.
Than wait a yeay for full scar maturation, if things look good consider a fullTT+MR. Regards Dr. B
Please realize I'm over the net and cannot give complete medical recommendations Good Luck
I fully understand that its near impossible. I was just looking for insight. I guess I should add that the area above my scar is also hardened and painful too, almost to my belly button. I have avoided all doctors for everything the past 2 years. (Guess proves im pretty healthy havnt needed a doc at all) A little over a week ago I seemed to have injured myself somehow, guess I managed to maybe tear some scar tissue away from something it was stuck to. Im in bad pain now and my stomach is very swollen again.
I went to my GP today. I have went to him off and on my entire life and havnt been there in about 4 years. He was very shocked and unsettled by what I have. The areas above and below the scar are rock hard really. He took down the doctors name and I am quite certain he will be contacting the person who dont all these surgeries. He was very upset and didnt see how this got this far without other intervention. I do have an appt. now for the 21st with a surgeon. He also feel I likely have as much scar tissue inside my abdomen as I do outside and even x-ray my bowels to make sure nothing was going on with that.
I do thank you for your time that you come on here and answer questions for everyone.
