I had lipo on my hips, i/o thighs, flanks on Nov.3. I had a great deal of bruising and am only now without bruises. I had between 4-5 liters removed. I am 5'8" and weigh 148. I am very muscular and had only big hips and thighs. I am getting discouraged because I cannot see much of a change. My waist and hips are slightly larger, still. I did lose 2.5 inches in each thigh. My clothes all still fit without a big difference. I can see that my muffin top is still enlarged. I just thought by now I should really tell a difference. I am still sore, not near as much, but sore none the less. I began exercising this week and it made me even sorer. I am concentrating on upper body and walking. What makes my stomach larger? Do you think I am still swollen to that degree? I have a huge fear of gaining weight and would at least like to look like I have had something done after all that pain. I did tumescent lipo with incisions left open to drain. I appreciate you input. THANK YOU!!
I would encourage you to be patient with regard to your results. You did say you have quite a bit of bruising from the surgery and that when you exercise the areas become even more sore. You probably have quite a bit of residual swelling, which will take some time to subside. Your final results will most likely not occur for between six and 12 months. With regard to how clothes fit you, I am very hesitant to answer this question for patients because sometimes there are so many factors in terms of how clothes exactly fit. As a surgeon and doing liposculpting, I am thinking more in terms of creating a proper silhouette and balance a person’s body and whether clothes fit better I cannot always make that assessment. But once again I encourage you to be patient and the swelling should subside.
