I am currently living in Korea and had thigh circumference lipo 10 weeks ago. I thought I had the "best" surgeon in Korea but apparently not. My concern this time is my right inner thigh is totally dented all the way down to knee. My PS will not return phone calls or my emails. I will not even try to get him to do anything for me. My question is can you insert fat in all the dents? If so how long will it last. I am moving back to states in June2009 and will be in San Bernadino area and will be seeing you at that time for other revisions and other surprises that I may be getting. I need hope that things can and will improve. This was the worst decision I have ever made. I reasearched lipo for 2 years and had many consultations before choosing this dr. I am so scared at this point. Please help me.
I am sorry you are displeased with your results especially since you spent so long looking for the right surgeon. This is something that I strongly support that people should not be impulsive and should take their time and do their research. In terms of improving the areas, I do a lot of revisionliposuction surgery and when you are in Los Angeles, it would be a good idea to come see me. Approximately one quarter of my practice is revision surgery. I approach revision surgery in many different ways. Sometimes not enough fat was removed and in these cases it is easy to go back and to remove more fat. Many times there is asymmetry created and once again, it is usually quite easy to improve asymmetry. Many times a patient is thrown out of balance or proportion and liposuction needs to be done in either area to create a proper balance to the overall entire body. Another common mistake is to be too aggressive and to cause large dents or to many times cause rippling and small indentations. This is commonly due to the surgeon being too aggressive or not having enough respect for the skin and being overly aggressive in areas where the skin elasticity is less than optimal. In your case it does seem that fat transfer is the best approach, which is to remove the fat from areas that there might be some disproportion remaining on other areas of the body and to transfer it. It depends on how large an area there is to transfer. With regard to the fat taking very well, in my experience with fat transfer, most patients get a long lasting or permanent result most of the time. But if you read between my words, it does mean that sometimes the fat does go away after six to 12 months. But in many cases it can be permanent. In addition, I might also decide to blend some areas surrounding it and smooth out the edge or shelf of the dent to make it less apparent. But once again, the best thing to do is to come and see me. Even though I can evaluate things by photographs in most patients, I find that with revision liposuction surgery it definitely is very important to see me in person.
