Mouth lines

Mouth lines

Postby Skye5 » Wed Jul 22, 2009 4:23 pm

What can be done to make the feather-like lines around the mouth go away? I am not a smoker, I am 60, with excellent skin tone, and just starting to see faint lines on the upper lip. I have three that I can see on the upper lip and three on the skin just below the bottom lip.

They are not deep, and I would like to stop them before they get any deeper. What is best to use for this, and do I go to a dermatalogist or surgeon? I really do not want to use fillers, as they seem so temporary.

I tried Retin-A, but it gets onto my lips, and then I can taste it in my mouth! So I do not know if that would work, I am afraid of "eating" Retin-A every night! Any help appreciated!

Hey Skye5,

Microderm abrasion is a great, no invasive way to treat wrinkles and small face blemishes. Microderm abrasion is usually done by a dermatologist or estethician but I am sure a plastic surgeons office will also be able to point you in the right direction for this procedure. I also wanted to mention that we carry an at home machine for microderm abrasion that is fabulous. You can buy replacement crystals for it and use it whenever and wherever you need!

Crystalift At Home Microdermabrasion Device

Crystalift Replacement Cartridge
ID: 61704

This system is very advanced and similar to ones you would find in a dermatologists office who may treat you lines on the upper lip. I would definitely recommend trying it out!

If you have any questions or need help with ordering please contact me at 866-363-4325. I would love to help! Please remember that if you email me I can apply a 5% discount to your order!

Jessica.....Thanks for replying......You said the machine was great....but does it work?? Will it actually take away the lines that are starting to form? And will the skin then be red or pink after treatment? The only way it seems it would be able to take the lines away, would actually be to take off the top layer of skin, and in doing that, I would think it would leave the skin around the mouth fairly raw for awhile. I don't see how the lines can be taken away if it is just going to take away the dead skin cells that you would take away if you used a nubby washcloth on the face. Yes, the dead skin cells are removed, but not the lines.........

Hey Skye5,

Great questions. I have had microderm abrasion done on my face before at a doctor's office (mucho expensive) and it did leave my face a little red for a few hours but I did notice that my acne scars weren't as deep and because you are taking many layers of dead skin off of your face, it allows the new healthy skin cells underneath to rise to the surface to give your skin a younger, firmer feel. I havent used this specific microderm kit but I know that I personally have liked the results I have had with my microderm abrasion experiences. Maybe try having it done professionally and then decide if you want an at home kit?

If you have any questions please let me know!
