Have you tried REBOUNDING?

Have you tried REBOUNDING?

Postby AnneInNY » Sat Jul 18, 2009 7:47 am

I was looking around the web for exercise ideas. I love to swim but don't have a pool. I happened on some rebounding sites and started reading them. Apparently rebounding is extremely good for you. Moves the lymph fluid around to get rid of nasty stuff in your system, is good for regularity and works the core. Research studies compare 6 minutes of jumping with a mile of running and say results are comparable for the body. That's good news since I no longer run (too hard on my hips and knees at 56).

OK, so I bought a rebounder (mini trampoline) from Dick's sporting goods, but it was very hard and no fun to bounce on. I decided to spend a little more and looked online for advice. There were a bunch of video comparisons of rebounders on YouTube and I watched that and eventually decided to buy a Bellicon rebounder as it is made with bungey cord instead of steel springs.

Well I am amazed at this! 44" of jumping space and it's like jumping on an outdoor trampoline! Very springy, FUN to jump on. If you're looking for a fun exercise you can do inside, 3 times a day for 5 minutes or even once a day for 20, this is it! I do it while watching TV since I work alot of hours and have no time to really get on otherwise. LOVE IT!

I bought one a few days ago and LOVE IT!!! Mine has the resistance bands as well, plus a DVD w/workout routines, one cardio and one strength training w/the bands.

Are you still loving yours?! 8)

Oh YEAH I totally love mine.

What one did you get? The Bellicon? I am not sure if anybody else makes one with bungie cords, but after having that kind i don't think i could go back to one with the steel springs.

LOVE MINE!!

No, did not get that one.....

Mine is Athletic Works, inexpensive from Walmart, but I love it!! It bounces nicely, does not have steel springs, but not sure if this is bungey cord material either....

So do you just bounce around or have a routine you do? I have been doing the strengthning with the resistance bands, she "jogs it out" about 10 seconds between the band workouts to keep heart rate up.

I figure too, while watching TV I can just get on it and MOVE!

It's amazing the workout those resistance bands give, I never knew how weak my arms were!
