Failed Facelifts & Revisions?

Failed Facelifts & Revisions?

Postby chaidude35 » Thu May 10, 2007 10:55 pm

has anyone had a Lower F/L that failed due to the jowls or loose skin returning within a month or so after surgery? Did you have a revision that was successful in restoring the jawline? My F/L lasted just a month and when the swelling cleared up the jowls came back.
thanks for sharing,

Go back to your doctor. Have him/her take pics now and compare to your before pics. If the pictures do not reveal a substantial change, he should offer a revision, after enough time has passed--ESPECIALLY if the procedure seems to have failed after only one month. The caveats to that is if it was an LSL, you may be hard put to get much in the way of remediation and do you want the same doc revising what already did not work out so well for you??

Good luck.

I had a facelift - NOT a lifestyle lift - that was no different afterwards. I made two major mistakes (1) Having the same dr. do the revision, and (2) Not waiting sufficient time before I had the revision, as it, too, turned out about the same. I'd see several ps re this, and wait about a yr. before you have it done. This will give you sufficient time for total healing. DO NOT get impatient as I did, or you might have further regrets. Remember, if he/she screwed it up once, the same thing will probably happen again if you use the same dr.

I am so sorry you are having these results! May I ask what kind of facelift you had? Was is a mini-lift or one of the brand-name lifts like life-style lifts? There are people posting on this board who have had less than stellar results with these--seems like the procedure does not do enough for some to have lasting results.

I wish you the best--it is so hard to think of going through such a big procedure and the results not seem worth it at this point. Have you spoken to your MD yet? Keep us posted on what happens with your MD. The ladies/men on this site are quite nice and are very understanding---which is very nice because many of us do not wish to share plastic surgery details in our normal circle of friends.
