Getting Upper Lid lift and Face/Neck lift tomorrow...

What an absolute bummer Avalon! My doc said that after lookiing at it via internet photo, he thought mine was more like an ingrown hair follicle. I think he's totally wrong, because it's not just one tiny area of it, but a few spots along the whole incision are raised, bmpy and totally scabby in a gross sort of way. The other side simply doesn't have this. So I'm going to seem my reg doctor on Monday cause I can't drive down to see him until Friday (when I have my 3 week check up anyway). I hope to be on antibiotics for this.

I don't know why yours isn't kicking in yet, but some bacterial infections take longer to heal than others. Hang in there...our surgeries would be too good to be true if we didn't have one small glitch. At least it's this and not issues with the actual lift. In fact, today I ran into a women I know a bit as an aquaintance. She has had a lift, it's clear, maybe about a year ago. And really, now that I know the difference, not a very realistic one. She looks younger, but she has that pulled look that's so scarey looking, especially on very thin women. I honestly don't think I'm going to have that look when all my swelling (so minimal now) goes down. So we could be complaining about that, I guess, but we don't have to!

big hug!

J.

Hi Avalon

It is 4 months since my facelift/mid lower face and necklift with upper/lower eyes and fat grafting.
Just to let you know I had a lot done and lots of raised bumpy scabs on the incisions in my hair.
behind my left ear was slower to heal . The scabs in my hair were big and of course I have a tendency to pick. They did bleed sometimes but after 1 month they started to fall off. I think once you get the infection over things will heal much quicker. I did not wash my hair that much cause I wanted things to heal and I know scabs do that. Now of course all is good and all healed.
Good luck with your Doctor and keep on his case and ask to see him not just his nurse cause you have problems.
It takes time for healing and I dont have a lot of patience but the final outcome is amazing and I would do it over in a minute.I have no pulled look at all just natural . For 60 years old I feel pretty good.

Retiree54, Yes, you look awesome! Better Change your username to something like rejuvi45!

Thanks for sharing. I have had a heck of a time with docs! My regular doc is out of town, the optional doc in the practice had me waiting for over an hour and I had to leave the office to pick up my kids from camp and tomorrow is my only other day before friday that I have time. I'm hoping to either see the doc that had me waiting or just get over to urgent care. This is getting ridiculous!

I have good hopes that all will heal up soon, but I hate how I've had a week of knowing that the incision is not healing right and not getting treatment. I am not exactly patient either. My doc, Dr. L (surgeon) is not that bedside friendly. I think he's a bit arrogant in fact, so I should have guessed that he wouldn't just prescribe antibiotics over the phone. Probably best practices (doctor-wise and all) but still - wouldn't you think that to be on the safe side you'd just go ahead and at least put me on zithromax to cover bases until I can get in to see him? I'm going to bring this up on Friday. Though I know his response will not be what I would like. Oh well.

Seriously, I can't complain about a damn thing other than that.

Thanks for sharing your pics too. I repeat, you look awesome!

I had a n/l and lower f/l 5 days ago. I have a triangluar face as my temple area is quite swollen. My neck is very tight. I also have a weird rippled area near my ear. My ears are totally numb. No pain at this time, and I am icing constantly - only going a few minutes an hour w/o ice. Please share your recovery with me. I have to return to work in three weeks and DO NOT want anyone to know why I was out....
