I had both done back in June and I still had hard lumps AND swelling in the glands way past the 6 week mark. My cheeks were still hard and my ears itched for weeks as the nerves grew back. This is a GOOD thing, as when you scratch or massage the area, it heals even faster. I even had a stitch next to my ear that felt like a BB. The doc said he would cut it out at 7 weeks, but am glad I waited, as I didn't want my face cut again, and the stitch is almost dissolved now at nearly 4 months.
It's interesting reading these posts as we worry so much right after the procedure because everything looks and feels different for us. I rested a lot the first couple of months and the stress from the surgery (or maybe the antibiotics) weakened my hair and nails for a good month. All is back to normal now, and I'm pleased with my new chin.
I will be 60 next month, and don't feel or look like it. I recently saw my grown children (pictured) and they didn't even notice the differnce, but looking at the before and after photos with them, I can see the difference! It was the photo with my son that made me make the decision...too much chin! But look at the after, with my daughter....(they don't know and I didn't tell them, either.) http://www.makemeheal.com/pictures/view ... bumid=9606.
just don't rush things sundie, you'll gonna be fine and everything will be undercontrol. just follow what your PS advices. I assumed that your doing fine now since its been a month since your last post. How are you after your plastysmaplasty? (neck)
Went to see my surgeon last week over 7 weeks post op and my concern of which I spoke earlier on messages being the fold of skin under my chin that had not tightened like the rest of my neck is still there!! The surgeon said that it is where the liposuction didn't take in that area! He suggested that I have Deep FX laser treament just in that area alone to tighten that small area. Not having the full treatment over neck, not yet anyway, but he came good and said he would do this for me for a small fee. So I am off to my appointment this afternoon and hopefully all goes well. Not had this treatment before, hear that it is good with minimal down time say 3/4 days. Anyone had this treatment?
I've noticed a jowl sag on the left side where the liposuction and plasmatyplasy has not held up too well. It's minor now, but will still be there tomorrow and the day after, and the day after. May try and get a photo. Like I said it's minor, but considering the price and the down time; I'd had hoped for better.
Linda, I will be having the same procedure in January, except no lipo. In viewing your pictures, I really didn't think she had that much fat under your chin. Anyway, you look awesome and your daugher is beautiful.
Thanks, I appreciate the comments. I'll be 60 here in a couple of weeks, and people can't believe it, especially when I have makeup on that evens out my skin tone. Don't get me wrong, I am soooo glad I had this done. Just being able to stop the clock for a bit. If I had it to over again....I would!! I am mostly pleased with my results.
