Questions - abbreviations & terms

Postby Chlo-lo » Mon Mar 24, 2008 9:26 pm

Is there a list of all abbreviations and terms used on the boards?
Terms like Bump, what does it mean when someone writes that?

Thank you

I had a hard time figuring out what "bump" meant too, a couple of years ago.

When someone's post is not answered or they want to address a subject that has somehow dropped way down the list, they will write in the word:

Bump

To, in effect, move the post back to the top of the list. Any word could be used to accomplish this, but this is the universally recognized one on message boards.

Here's some more another poster created and to which I added a few others:

MR= muscle repair
FTT= full tummy tuck
ETT= extended TT
MTT=miniTT
BA=breast augment
BL=breast lift or brow lift, depending on the context
U=upper (for lipo)
L=lower (for lipo)
UB=upper bleph
LB=lower bleph
FL=face lift
NL=neck lift
PM = personal message (a button at the bottom of the message)
PW= password

These acronyms all took me a little while to work out too, and I like to think I'm a seasoned BB (bulletin board, rather than Belly Button :-D) user...

BR= Breast Reduction

How about DH, which I'd never come across before? does it =Dear/darling husband?? And dd = darling daughter?

Any others being commonly used?

Thanks for pointers :-)
