1999 Gastric Bypass bowel issues

1999 Gastric Bypass bowel issues

Postby bozzy98 » Thu Jan 07, 2010 2:50 pm

My husband had gastric bypass in 1999. Since then he has had trouble with his bowels. Does anyone else have these problems?

Can't poop for days, then poops all day long? This comes with sweats, headaches, cramps, nausia.
Recently, almost died from emergency bowel recession, piece of fruit the size and as thin as a candy wrapper got stuck.

Help, any advice...

I had a problem with constipation before I had my surgery. Now that I've had the surgery, it's just as bad if not worse. I take stool softeners and miralax daily, and if I go for more than 2 days without a bm, I take some milk of magnesia at bedtime. If I let it go for more than 2 days, I get really sick, so I really try to stay on top of it. Hope this helps!
