Port flipped backward after tummy tuck....

Port flipped backward after tummy tuck....

Postby tlsb » Fri May 15, 2009 6:33 am

I had lap band in 2001 and I am absolutely thrilled with it, but last month I went in and had a tummy tuck and arm lift. Well yesterday I went in for a fill because I have nothing in it and my surgeon discovered that the plastic surgeon had accidentally flipped my port over backward when he resutured it. Has anyone had anything like this happen? He says he can fix it really quickly in his office under local anethesia. I am a bit worried about this.. any ideas on this...

I had my port flip in 2003. It wasn't done in office...scary!!... but it was done under local anesthesia in the hospital. They just reopened the port incision, if yours isn't nearby after the TT he'll have to give another incision, and flipped it back around. It was tender for a week or so after, but not like original placement.

Good luck!!

I've never experienced that but the port isn't that deep in your skin so it can definitely be done in office. Good luck!

And, have you had the same Lap Band since 2001? I mean is your band truly 10 years old?

Mine is only a little over a year old and I'm always wondering how long the last:)
