Dr Yang's posts and topics disappeared, why?

Dr Yang's posts and topics disappeared, why?

Postby ilenedream » Tue Mar 04, 2014 8:35 am

The message board say many pages of topics Dr Yang has commented on, yet after page 3, nothing will come up except an ad. The remainder of pages contain no messages or posts.

What happened and can it be fixed?

I don't think they are 'gone'. I think they were made 'unsticky'.

The ad is what comes up after the first two pages, always.

I'm not sure what happened. A few months back, I wrote to the admin requesting this board should be locked as are all the other doctor boards which were abandoned. Yang abandoned his board as he was not on here since June and that's 9 months. Subsequent to my request to lock this board (because it was abandoned), admin did something else--maybe by mistake as I noticed at the time all the locked stickies were unlocked. They also told me Yang was coming back to it and he did not want it locked. But that was about 3 months ago and he has not come back. So, I have no idea how the other stuff got missing other than some kind of mistake with the lock request.

I don't know. I'm beside myself on that as I've seen that it is down with server error. I'm trying to get in touch with my tech guy about it but can't seem to find him.

I'm shocked. All of the posts are gone except this one. Only the titles remain for some but no posts.

Somehow they should restore Dr Yang's board. I'm sure they have backups if this is as good a board as all of us believed MMH is.

Dr Yang spent hours and hours on here helping people, helping me for one and I feel out of respect and gratitude for what he gave to the people on here that his work is of utmost importance and should be preserved whether he chooses to participate in the future or not. His posts would continue to offer readers the answers they seek as all of the posts have done.

Sounds like a section is needed for readers to have access to archived questions and answers for Docs not actively articulating, knowing he is not active but his hours of work and endless information remains valuable and available to all.

Dr Yang's board because his opinions come from a man who is highly skilled, of great compassion and an asset to MMH, regardless whether he is active or not. His writings are invaluable treasures on this forum.

Thanks

Your right. When I click onto page 3 or so, I get nothing but the ad as you prior observed. Also, I SEE the topics on the first page but when I click on them, it says; 'topic does not exist'. The same topics seemed to work yesterday but today not. Very STRANGE as I just checked the logs which mods can see and there is no record for deletions. I shall write to the admin to inform them of this.

Good job!
I know everyone will appreciate whatever you can find out.

I also would prefer you not quote my last message.
I have deleted my not so polite comments out of that post, but they can be seen in your quoted section. I was upset when I wrote them and my words were unnecessary. Can you please delete the section of my quoted message from your last reply?

Thank you

Done. deleted your requested quote and relayed this to the admin.
When I first requested to the admin to lock the board (that would retain all of the past posts but not let people post on it given Dr. Yang has not been on it for more than 6 months), they told me he was going to post on it again. But that was in Jan. and he has not posted on it. I don't know what happened to it. But I did report it to admin and noted a poster noticed many topics and posts missing.
