Anyone here had sideburns restored after FL?

Anyone here had sideburns restored after FL?

Postby zebra » Wed Jan 26, 2011 11:10 am

Is there anyone here who is willing to share their experience of successful restoration of sideburns stripped away during a face lift?

Does anyone have recommendations for US surgeons who specialise in women's hair loss issues following poor surgery?

I'd like to do this. It's a year after the fl and I've been to doctors to see about doing a restoration of sideburns. I'd really feel much better if I did, but I'm afraid of the area scarring or the redness staying there and the hair not growing back. I'd love to know some experiences too.

Evet2,

Check out Hair Restoration Network, but bear in mind there is no way of knowing for sure whether photos have been touched up. I am in the same unfortunate position as yourself, having found - completely to my surprise and horror, that my surgeon removed my sideburns and elevated my hairline well above my ears.

Are you in US or UK? The best HT people are in US, and some of them sometimes come to UK where they give consultations.

I recently had a consultation in London with an HT surgeon from US. In addition to losing my sideburns, i also have extensive permanent baldness on the back of my head because (according to other surgeons) the op surgeon closed the incision under too much tension plus did not use the correct technique to preserve follicles. The HT surgeon told me 'i can't perform miracles' so i will have to live with this.

I have heard that elevated hairlines can be lowered a few mm surgically and am researching this. I will post about this on the FL thread, i'm hoping some one has had it done.

Hi Zebra, have you had anything done since you posted? I too have no sideburns due to a recent facelift. I will probably consult with Shapiro Med. Group, as I happen to live nearby. Would love to hear your experience if you have undergone any treatment.

Hi,

No, done alot of research and desperate to get my life back. I grieve daily for my lost life. The fact that it is impossible to locate anyone who has had their sideburns restored is telling. Photos you see on the internet could easily be touched up. I would need to meet a 'real' patient face to face to verify the result. I travelled abroad and saw a number of surgeons incl HT, who actually warned me against HT. My problem is i barely have enough donor hair because the FL surgeon did such a poor job with every aspect of my precious face.

What has your research produced? Anything?
